Finally pulled the plug and left the airport. Unreal scene with hundreds of cars stranded. Drifts over the tops of cars, total whiteout, every feeder road backed up for miles. That was terrible.

Just measured 22" in a sheltered/non-drifted area on my deck. (6200'). Should provide a decent base if we can get similar amounts on Saturday.

Beaver got a ton of snow. Unfortunately, a ton of people, too.

Lots might be safe, I don't know.
Otherwise you can park at my place in 80211 and I could drop you or take an Uber to Union Station a mile away. I've heard they have a cheap van to DIA but I've never taken it.

In other news Basin skied well. Wind affected hard in some spots but knee deep in the wind load. Tomorrow will have plenty of fresh lines.

Park at Stapleton for $1 per day, ride RTD bus to airport for $9.
While that suggestion is big for the low budget. There is no way I would leave all my belongings in my rig at a RTD park and ride.

If you can skip work and get to berthoud tomorrow, it'll be good. There's a crusty layer anywhere the sun shines, but it snowed pretty hard all day. Easily 18" in most spots.

Super high water content snow here, about a dozen miles east of Boulder. Worst time I've ever had with my 8.5 HP snow thrower - it got completely bogged down.

Spent the rest of the day clearing snow off of trees and shoveling the old fashioned way.

I'd rather be this sore from skiing. At least I70 was closed, so I didn't feel as bad ;-)

Anyone at Eldora today? Heading there in the AM. 19" of insanely wet snow in Boulder. Drove around this afternoon and trees down everywhere. Amazing that it wasn't snowing as of 2am last night when I got home.

Can anyone confirm the Red Rocks ski photos floating around FB? I'm thinking BS. We got a lot of snow down here but I don't feel like it was anywhere like it was 13(?) years ago when the last time it went down.

I would post the photo, but the fucking nice and easy photo attachment isn't on the app anymore. DUNFEEEE!

That's the same photo that was posted a while back, so I'm 99% sure it didn't happen today. I think it was legit back when it was originally taken though, IIRC.

that's why I use USAirport. They wouldn't be able to stay in business if people were getting cars broken into. The whole place is fenced and open/staffed 24/7.

I look at US Airport parking fees as theft/vandalism insurance - part of the cost of the trip. I don't have a lot of risk tolerance ;-)

How do you know a resort is complete shit? It would literally be 1 million times better to ski at Eldora if the resort shut down tomorrow. #MakeEldoraGreatAgain..........................by closing it.
