^^thats cause it's at breck
Eldora did well in this storm. They generously reported 11" in 24, but they had a solid 7-8" this morning compared to Winter Park's 3.5" in 24.

Couple inches out there
^^^^bravo as I sit at my desk.
Breck had 7" up top for sure, but everyone read the snow report this morning and headed there. Got banged up pretty quick.
Remember in 03 when that blizzard hit in March, you had to break trail skiing down hill, I think Loveland reported 50" new, avalanches were running the full paths, there was that huge one near silver plume that reached I-70, now that was extreme and black.
I had to dig my car out to drive to Hueco Tanks for spring break and it took a twelve pack. I also didn't go to work for a couple days as even the buses couldn't run. Thank buddha I could walk to the liquor store off Table Mesa and Broadway. My friend lived up Magnolia and had like 70 inches or something ridiculous but he headed into Boulder before it started.
I was living the dream back then.
That was the Spring that the patrol cabin and the loo at Chasm Lake got taken out in an avy (http://www.nps.gov/romo/learn/news/pr_chasm_shelter.htm). Looking at the distance it had to travel to reach those two structures was pretty sobering.
Cheers,

My fault, it snows, I plan, it stops snowing
Sloppy seconds were outstanding at Monarch today. First time skiing there and we had a great time in the trees off the Panorama lift. Deep chop and occasionally as many as 6-7 consecutive untracked turns... Awesome day.
I could see this being unbelievable if you lived somewhere like CB and have spent years staring at and dreaming of skiing certain lines that you just couldn't safely ski in winter. In your situation you're a lot more in tune with sun affect, wind loading and where you'll find that good snow on the once in a lifetime line.
Yep Goldenboy...once in a lifetime. Bet ya that guy's been looking at Gothic for years wondering "how cool would in be to ski that".
There were one or two days last week that blew- frozen mank, flat light, high winds and scraped to shit. But the mountain has been holding this week, nice and chalky up top. A little baked front side lower but it's been fun to cruise under such blue skies. Single-digits at night and creeping into mid-30s during day. Bring us more pow or bring us corn. Dec and Jan were so very good it's hard to be bitter about Februmelt, despite the forecast.
Still...hoping for a March miracle, not ready to quit yet. Getting fresh ON3P's installed today...100 days or bust!
