Sounds like this weekend's storm is a bust. Dust on crust for the next two weeks.

Maybe I'm mistaken but didn't you post a WTB ice tools thread? Forecast looks good for stuff to start coming in fat. Grab some tools and enjoy the shoulder season.

Did a couple minilaps at Berthoud today, can confirm that it never snows in CO. The little bit of dust on grass is probably all we'll see until '15/'16. I'm pretty stoked that I don't have any proper pow BC skis this year because this season's definitely a total write-off at this point.

You dudes are hilarious. I don't know whether to build you up or knock you down. If it snows, go. If not find something better to do.

Overheard on the bus in Vail today:

Guy talking on his phone, "Fucking Vail. They groomed three strips down the mountain and basically relied on everyone else to pack down the snow and I didn't even get paid for it."

I was about ready to tell the guy to shut the fuck up and eat a bag of dicks, but I remained calm. I'm pretty sure that they didn't groom a lot of stuff because they simply couldn't. Hoping someone here who knows a little more about grooming can chime in. I'm thinking that if they tried to groom some of the runs they did thankfully open, then they would have been fucked up. Because if a cat packs down the snow, then the tiller? from the groomer can't dig in enough because it's just not that deep. Am I kind of right?

Either way, I'm glad they didn't groom the entire upper mountain.

On a related note, I'm hearing that if we can squeeze out a foot of snow from this next storm, then 11 and 5 will be open mid-week next week no problem.

Guess We'll be finding something better to do, cause Gratz just told me that the system is going to split and go north and south of CO. #neversnowsinco

Not 5....7. 11 and 7 are very close to opening. 5 and the rest of the back is a ways away still. Target for 5 is always Christmas. 10 is next after 7 and 11.

Dude, I'm just spreading rumors given to me by people who are actually involved with opening up parts of the mountain. Sure, you can add 10 and 7 to the list if you want.

Chair 5 will be opening up soon...... like next week.

that dude CAN eat a bag of dicks. I thoroughly enjoyed Vail today. Much better than the typical icy WROD on Born Free. Sunday-Monday could be fun. Will let the legs think about it tomorrow while watching football.

They probably are but my neighbor is too. Also skied 2 runs with a patrol friend today who said the same thing. The high elevation shots have enough snow but not enough down low yet.

I hope it opens, that'd be sweet.

Yeah man, I hope so too. It will open next week if we can get the 10-20" that is in the forecast over the next couple of days.

Pretty good up high yesterday. Nothing gnarly, but a nice long line. Love early season terrain openings too. Just gotta be there. No use in guessing when.

Looks like the front is about to hit Aspen. All types of misty on both sides of the highway.
