Nice bike.
So I'm seeing blue clear skies on the Basin webcams? Is this thing over for Summit?
Dumping fat flakes upon my arrival in Avon. I'm going with not over yet.
Faucet turned off around 5. Hopefully turns back on.
How are things looking in the Aspen area? Thought I might do some laps at Snowmass tomorrow morning...
Seemed to hit summit later and end sooner than predicted. That said, nice mid May dumpage...hopefully the dust layer is buried for a bit

Looks like the faucet never went back on at AB?
It amazes me how many people locally (Denver) are bitching about the snow. Do they not remember the fire season of '12? All this moisture is awesome.
^^ Unless it gets real hot in the next few weeks and foliage turns into jet fuel for June fires.
Nice stoke Trogdor. Love that zone.
yeah, but this is better than having 85 deg weather from april to june with no precip. this will hopefully temper the potential for big fires.
Most people are bitching because the heavy snow is killing spring plants and snapping tree limbs, which is completely understandable. Those complaining about the moisture aspect of the storm are, well... idiots that shouldn't be paid attention to anyways.
dear god that was the biggest shitshow I've ever seen at a basin. Even more than the deep days after vail resorts closed last year... arrived at 8:30 to an already full first lot with cars already heading up to the third lot. Turned around and said fuck it, we'll just go tour somewhere. sheesh.
I'm starting to think opensnow is a shitty thing.. don't even know how many comments from front rangers I saw saying something like "definitely taking monday off!"..
Cameron pass was DEEP
Couldn't agree more. Opensnow overhyping doesn't help one bit.
"Monday:
Enjoy skiing today! It should be a full-on powder day for most areas, though Abasin is the only resort that's still running lifts. Snow will continue to fall in the morning, then should taper off through the day for most mountains. The exception will be an increase in snow over the southern mountains during the day. Once again, storm total snowfall should hit at least 12 inches for most mountains, with 20+ inches along and east of the divide"

Don’t shoot the Open Snow messenger.
If you want the powder to yourself, you know what you have to do…![]()
agree...although I wonder how many of those people would actually go without the opensnow messenger telling them to.
Anyway, what an April and May it's been.
Right because the I-70 mountains were never crowded before Joel registered opensnow.com
Big storm in May with only one resort in the entire state spinning their lifts. That's why it was crowded, what the hell did you expect?
"arrived at 8:30" is your problem dummy
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Skinned up Peak 8 at Breck this morning and skied Horseshoe Bowl off the top. Gorgeous morning with no wind and DEEP turns(12"+). Hellz yeah.
Old's Cool.
