Wouldn't be the first or the last time we could see the evil "R" in January. But it's freaking warm out there. Street in front of my house melted out today at 8200'. My freaking heat tape failed this winter and I hear my gutters burst and are spraying water everywhere. Best thing could be if all this SW warm and weak shit could be followed up by a nice storm from the NW

Ill take any precip right now. Gone a few monarch vouchers so I'm headed there this weekend. It'll be nice to ski somewhere less crowded at least...

Jan. is a bust but February is a whole new month. Flying to Kentucky the 1st wkd of Feb so maybe that can help start off the return to winter.

forecast sounds like a bust for the north. It was -20 everyday for 3 weeks and now we have moisture and it's a chilly 31 at home this morning. Crazy weather I tell ya....crazy weather.

pouring rain in durango this AM. looks to be snow in the mountains (based on ski-area webcams).

last week it was highs in the single digits.

    lame shit.

Last week was cold and clear in the S San Juans and I observed some significant surface hoar. And now NOAA is calling for 2 feet of heavy wet snow at the higher elevations. That should be a horrifying mix.

I'm thinking jeebus is punishing us for gays getting married and lack of MOAR GUNS! in our schools.

^^. Don't forget the whole weed of the devil thing too. Crazy weather right now. I'm honestly just glad there is a ton of moisture in this storm. Better than no water at all.

Maybe if we can get JoeTron to shave his beard as a sacrifice to Ullr or something, we can has winter back.
The older I get, the faster I was.

Is the 4-8 that Joel and NOAA are forecasting for Wolf Creek tonight looking likely?

The T-Bar is still skiing surprisingly well. Reminds me of mini-Squaw. Chalky crud with a little bit of a spring (wet) feel to it. Definitely soft enough to really turn up the volume on the steep stuff - pretty fun actually when raging down the narrow chutes to skiers left.

Just got back from Purg. Holy cow the wet stuff was coming down. This storm is some serious PNW bullshit. It was wet, heavy but a lot of fun up there.
Good reminder that I need some new pants that have better than 10k waterproofing....

I hope this storm gets to the rest of you guys. The whole state needs it.

Why not Breck? It's gonna ski even better tomorrow. Started storming right around 3.

Went for a 20 mile bike ride in shorts today. Wasn't cold at any time during the ride. Hard to believe it's January.
