But shit its frustrating to watch big storms hit other locales (having lived in a few of them) only to watch ours fizzle and fade. In the end it is what it is.
I understand. I live in Colorado because it provides the best compromise between work, lifestyle, weather and airport. I give something up on the snow, but skiing isn't my absolute number 1 priority.

If skiing was my absolutely number 1 priority, I'd live in Utah.

Look, I made the deal in 2009.....for the 2009 season. It worked, Bama won and it didn't snow. 2010 I said nothing and it snowed a ton. 2011 I said nothing and Bama won again and it didn't snow. I'll claim 2009 but the rest is just not my fault. Roll Tide....praise ULLR

Remember when all you guys bitched about it snowing a ton early in the year and fucking up the snowpack for the remainder of the season? Yeah, I thought so. Shut the fuck up.

PS - I'll update the Ullr NSFW thread later.

When did it snow a "ton" early in the year? 2010? Surely not this year or last...

the trees have buds on em at the house. That being said, it's been great to still be able to go out to the park and play with my little dude everyday without having him all wrapped up.

It's been so warm lately that I'm not even stressing over the lack of snow because it feels like early October. It's only when I look at the calendar that I freak out.

The early season last year was actually pretty good. Once December came around, though, it stopped snowing. I got a ton of pow days through Oct and Nov. Oct, Nov and Feb were actually really good last year. However, the complete lack of precip the rest of the season is what screwed us.

Snow is below the historic median in CO at the moment, but check back on Monday and see where it is.... still too early in the season to be stressed out IMHO

Aspen/Snowmass barely opened on Thanksgiving in 07/08... Then we had one of the best winters ever... I'm not stressed yet, but I wouldn't mind a pow day soon.

No, this is what you want. Then right when before the opener, start dumping and snow for 30+ days in a row!

Do they have a tentative closing date for Indy? I'm hoping on coming over late Friday night?

Indy closes on the 7th, usually, but they are keeping it open until Friday this year. I would not count on it given what time you are coming over coupled with the weather pushing in.

I was grooming Sunlight that year and we did not know if we were going to open for the scheduled opening weekend. Then the weekend came and it started dumping and did not stop. It was mid January before we had caught up on grooming. Some places that normally are groomed did not get touched that season we were so busy with the high priority areas.

Colorado weather report: looking pretty hazy in and around the Denver metro area up through the highway 36 corridor. Wait a second, it smells like... In fact it is a cloud of marijuana smoke!
