very very low river & lake levels this summer.
massive pine beetle / drought induced wildfires.
I think it is going to be snowstorms on a consistent basis through Memorial Day. LATE spring would be my guess, but that is all it is, an uneducated guess. I think La Nina was late getting here, but am keeping fingers crossed for a recovery this spring.

    On their website, Vail.com.

All of the resorts post it these days. Keystone's at 96" (doubt it), Breck is at 170", and Beaver Creek is at 153". Surprisingly (or not), A-Basin isn't reporting their yearly total.

that sounds pretty spot on, although surprisingly enough a low snowpack year doesn't really have much correlation with a bad wildfire season (yea i did some research). As long as we get a good wet summer/nice monsoon then we'll be fine.

irwin/kebler area only has 208 inches right now which is really bad for them considering they average 600/season

I have a hard time believing breck has gotten more than vail this year, especially since breck moved their snow stick a year or two ago and miraculously started reporting higher totals than they usually do.

For the record, Vail started their season snow count before the mountain was open. When we got those big dumps in November or October they began counting. So realistically, Vail has gotten at least 30" less than reported since the mountain has been open.

IMO its pretty lame to to include snow that fell before the mountain opened in the total.

I've found Aspen/Snowmass totals to be completely accurate. Since Thanksgiving, we've had just about 86" of snow.

It's too bad that the 30-40" we had before opening all got blown away..

Snow totals aside, it's been snowing in good ol rifle here since 8:00 this morning. Typically that bodes well for resorts the next day as it makes is way east. Tomorrow could be a fun day, hopefully

didn't snow at Vail today when I was on the mtn (first thing til 1) but we did have a good band roll thru around 5 for about 30 min. Off and on light snow since then. Joel says the main cold front is east of Junction and headed this way.

The snow/front just hit Sunlight. it is dumping up there. The snow stake boards had nothing on them at 7:05, at 7:23 there was almost 3/4".

And just like that the snow is gone again. I am over this winter all ready. It might as well warm up if we are not going to get shit for snow.

    100% Epic.
I knew there was a mag in there somewhere. Best lift line ever "I bet your dick is so small you cant even see it." "Just so you know- I am the best skier on the mountain, I am going to rip the shit out of this."
