Super light and deep snow at Loveland today- it was DUMPING when I left too. If it keeps it up all night tomorrow is going to be unreal.

Weather.gov reporting 3-7 additional over night and 3-5 tommorow.

By Sunday 8am anyone think any of the resorts will be Kuro worthy?

not that it matters because their unmounted, but could probably track someone down in boulder tonight and have them mounted freehand.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

quite a little storm cycle, eh? Just goes to show you that even the big boys at NOAA cannot predict this shit. Since Thursday, Loveland got nearly 3 inches of water equivalent

Looks like a persistent NW flow into this week... we'll see

I just got back from Vail. Left boulder at 6am, got to vail at 830 (weather and traffic). The snow was simply epic for November 30. There was probably more terrain they could have opened, but I suppose they are leaving that in the name of building a base. But by Sunday morning, their had to be between 12-15 fresh. Amazing conditions. Only downside was the wind. Top of mountain top and wildwood were blowing like crazy and it also made for some strange wind pillows in the trees. Some of the cliffs are still obviously sketchy, but it was simply amazing. It took us 10 hours total to get home. 2 hours of driving between vail and prisco before 70 closed, then five hour wait in breck, then another 3 hours. Madness. Totally worth it. By the way, it was completely dumping the entire time from leaving vail all the way until tunnel at around 10:30 pm. I pressume it is continuing as we speak. If you can blow off work/school and hit vail, do it. You will not be disapointed, bring yourself a nice mid-fat (100-110mm) because there is still some sketch areas. Enjoy it. Great little system, everything and more. The front side trees are great!

That's my report on this weather system. Go make one of your own.

Hey D, are they going to get anything from the system coming in tomorrow? I'm heading up on Wednesday regardless, but it would be nice for a few more inches on top.

What, the 4 inches of water equivalent wasn't enough for you? Tomorrow's will be a fast hitter with some good dynamics, but probably will be a bit below advisory levels.

    Good refresher.

Something nuts is going on in Boulder. Winds are just pounding our windows non-stop. Does this mean anything? Probably not. But at least things are unsteady.

Amazing how nothing about that storm was predicted, even on this thread!

In hindsight, were there any markers in the forecasts that were missed?

The jet sagged further south than anticipated, which certainly helped to drive the moisture against the divide (which was mentioned in some of the discussions leading up to the storm). However, NOBODY expected that the divide would get over four inches of water.

just one of the many surprises Ullr likes to throw at you. Late thursday night I was playing meteorologist and noticed N/NW flow setting up. I knew Friday morning there would be some moderate accumulations, but not continuing for another 2 days. Amazing to watch it all go down.

Meanwhile, the Weather Channel is liking this next one....
