If it stays cold and dry until relatively late in to the season and then the snow starts and doesn't stop, conditions will be (relatively) bomber. It's happened before, it can happen again.
Just relax!! It's going to have to snow a shitload to actually stick around through the warmth and sunshine we'll experience in the next few weeks. As Gratzo said there's nothing big on the horizon. There were years when it did snow a shitload in early and mid September, and did stick around, this definitely doesn't look like it's going to be one of those years. Enjoy the taste of what's coming and chill out a little.....and I'm pretty sure it's spelled bro-brah

This is what Torreys looked like this afternoon. Don't worry, it will all be melted by tomorrow afternoon.

From my house in Dillon, Greys and Torreys definitely look like more than just a dusting up on top....

Imogene Pass had the light dusting of snow overnight. But the weather turned out perfect for the race. broken clouds, light wind, about 40dgf at the pass. The course is just brutal. I never "ran" a race where just about everyone walks a huge portion of it. The 5 miles to the summit was a total walk/hike. The run down to t-ride was a blast. I aimed for a 3:30 finish and beat it by 2 min, huge blisters on my heels included.

NWS is predicting a little snow Wednesday night. Maybe 3 to 5 on Peak 10 and 4 to 8 at Massive. I am starting to get anxious.

    now we're talking.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

don't worry, this will melt too at most elevations. We've got plenty of fall to come in the next couple of weeks but this is a nice preview.

Looks like a little more than a dusting fell today.

Picture of Daly with Capitol still hidden in the clouds on the right.

Sopris is also showing a fresh layer of white.

Wasn't able to snap a picture, but on the drive up to Breck yesterday, Grizzly had a ton of snow on it. I also snapped these pictures while climbing Mount Jasper (129xx') with my uncle in the Indian Peaks on Friday. On the old snow surfaces, and in pockets between rocks, there was about 5" of wet snow on the ground. It also snowed a little while we were up there. The Arapahoes also have quite a bit of snow.
