Looks like everything is moving from the NW so not a lot of moisture on the radar for Summit today. I'm just saying that tot totally jinx my ride home from work later.

I can't wait for the nice sunny weather forecasted fro next week. Today was a nice taste, but a long term forecast of 60ºF for many days in a row sounds pretty damn good right now. Maybe even open up some dirt trails.

Dust on crust in the RFV.
If it clears we may still get some corn.
This next week will be really good.

Do you have a link? I can only find articles mentioning Denver County being extended and Eagle County being granted their exemption.

Edit: Answered my own question. https://douglascountynewspress.net/s...douglas,297892

Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas. Jeffco and others looking like they will follow the state recommendation for now.

Weld county is ignoring the governor's directive and opening all business apparently. So get ready for a trip to Weldworks! (J/K Neil didn't sound enthused about it)

Road trip Sunday! There actually isn't really a reason any longer to make the drive to Greeley to buy beer (and enjoy the wonderful smells) as they have been doing big can drops all over the place (DDH JB!).

Rudy’s is SOLID BBQ if u find yourself in Greeley. Brisket, sausage are solid but really the turkey and the pork loin might be their best meats. Moist or cutters for the brisket don’t be a sucker.

Good snow above Frisco. Just did the south facing trees off Victoria to the silent bob slide path. Didn’t really freeze much last night so the layer underneath was negligible.

So all those businesses who thought they could open after Polis' announcement have to stay shut down because of the county orders now? Jesus fuck, can't these idiot politicians just get on the same page and give people a sense of confidence in the way they're handling things? It's a fucking shit show.

Agree. Why couldn’t Polis mention on Wednesday during his presser that while the state was moving to Safer At Home, the Front Range counties would be Stay At Home at least until May 8th. What a shitshow at all levels.

Jesus people are tickling the avalanche monster all over the place.

WTF is this dumbfuckery? Trying for Big Eyes 2.0

If you feel like you have to ski cut a slab, why are you there?

Skier 1 attempted to ski cut above the start zone of the couloir with no results. Skier 1 proceeded to ski cut lower in the start zone, this second cut produced a D1.5 soft slab avalanche that broke under his feet about 1’ thick and propagated ~15’ in front of him. After a short discussion with skier 2, skier 1 then proceeded to ski cut the rest of the start zone. Shortly after skier 1 cut onto the hangfire that had not released with the second ski cut, cracks propagated across the rest of the start zone and a few feet above skier 1. The rest of the slope slid with crown depths up to 3’. This second avalanche broke deeper in the snowpack and propagated through the layer that had after as the bedding surface for the first avalanche.

No real hard freeze in sight either. Noon’s been perfect for the last week.
Today, it was an hour late.
Going to start loosing the low approaches this week.

I predict that we will have far less snow at the end of this week than we have this morning. Just a hunch. Looks like a beautiful week ahead!
