Stick a fork in the lifts, they’re done.
This is insane. But, in the long run may be the thing that saves a lot of lives

Fukt: a very small amount of snow.
Says you must already have an uphill pass. Think I’ll just plan on going elsewhere anyways. Backcountry could get a bit nutty and there’s a storm on the way next week.

Hut trip canceled here too. Glad we skied the basin yesterday. Oh well
Does Loveland ever check uphill passes? Without the sweet armbands that abasin issued, I can’t imagine they’ll be stopping everyone headed uphill to check their pass, correct?
Also, what’s the chance I get a refund on the Steamboat 3-pack I bought or at least deferral to next season?

go upside down.
Loveland does check passes (armbands) and will still be issuing them. I doubt they will be as militant about it as they are in December. I think it will be important to follow their rules and stick to the A path which services terrain off of Ptarmigan. Otherwise it could be shut down for all. Lots of other places for skiing that don’t have rules if following them is too hard.![]()
What he said ^^. Luv does and will continue to check passes. They are closed for public, but some on hill operations may still be occurring through the shutdown. Patrol room will have someone to play you the video and sign off, someone in the ticket office to print your pass.
With good 4G LTE in the parking lot, and a comfy van to hang out in I plan to spin some laps on south chutes with the pup before checking in at work.
We will see how it plays out but I expect and will enjoy a fair amount of chaos both in the backcounty and at the ski areas.
Looks like Loveland has now stopped issuing new uphill passes. Per FB post “Uphill Access Update: 2019/20 Uphill Access Pass holders may access Route A during the current closure. New Uphill Access Passes are NOT being issued at this time. If you do not currently have an Uphill Access Pass, you may not access Loveland Ski Area during the closure.”
Copper just straight up not allowing it

ABasin apparently had hundreds show up to uphill today. Now, per the above link, it’s shut down.
WP was allowing uphill today. Saw probably 30 people out midday.
WP is allowing up hill per there regular policy when closed. Sleeper only on the Jane. Hughes, Norwegian & Little Pierre on the Park Side. At bare minimum, please follow the policy for a few days. Resources are strained up here. 3 of the 4 largest employers are closed to the public. Please don't be selfish. If we skiers act like entitled dickwads expect all WP access to be closed and expect the bathrooms and parking at the pass to be prohibited. Skiing is not important right now.
Aspen probably had a couple hundred. Most were in pretty good spirits.
Most people were just bummed they hadn't got there 100 day pins yet.
I'll probably be out at Snowmass during the week, skinning the Knob with the dog.
Once we get some new snow, will probably bring the sleds down the front and park them at Shadow Mountain.
Bummed for all the employees without a paycheck.
Great day for exploring
