gratzo- Interesting that the NWS seems to have learned their lesson. Warnings all ove the place except the Gore due to the wind being more south of west. Not so sure that Monday is gonna be the big Pow day we all want in Eagle County. Still holding out hope that we're able to get a double digit day out of this storm. The next 10 days after this system look meh. Not a huge ridge but a ridge at any rate.

A foot so far... lovin' the zonal flow. (I'm actually not sure how Monarch does at all)

FYI, for you or anyone else w/ a case of the mondays, tix are $28.50 til the 16th if you have a pass elsewhere, so I've been told. Not a ton open, but enough to have some fun.

Wind direction at 10-12k this AM at Grand Junction (good enough approximation) is WSW, so CB is indeed doing well in WSW flow.

Wish there was more terrain open most places...

What's the consensus for tomorrow? CB is probably too far from Denver for me. I was hoping to head to the Beav with good snow, since they're about 50% open.

God we need a big pattern change. This early season has sucked.

Snowing lightly in Vail with minimal accumulation. I really hope we get something significant but i dunno...

This early season has been really lame for our zone.

I wouldn't even consider CB from the Denver area.... although they've done well recently, they have a 30"ish base and only 300 acres open. Hardly worth the drive from Denver (or Erie) for the day.

Their BC, however, is probably a much different story.

Guess I'll do the beav tomorrow with crossed fingers. Deep down I want to hit Wolf Creek but preferably not solo, cause that's a long ass drive too. It's looking good there!

Keep this weather pattern going. Sunlight has been doing great with it. It was dumping when I left today with about 5" since 9am.

The snow falling today is just what we need, nice and wet to really finish off the base. The trees will be very good soon.

I don't know, for less than $30, given the lack of snow up north, what's open is pretty damn good, and patrol keeps opening more and more. Especially when it's dumping all day on a 39" base (and counting). I'd say it's worth it for anyone who is jonesing bad.

BC? Avy Warning right now and with this much snow and wind we might even see the black rose tomorrow.

at times today it was FKNA puking at Vail. Then it would stop and not do anything for awhile. Currently snowing hard again, tomorrow could be good. Found some fun, soft stuff in Northwoods today. Man it felt good to be on soft snow again. Visibility at times was ZERO, but still a good day. Today was my first day not on groomed terrain since my injury. Skied a ton of chop today and did ok, form not good but getting there. By the afternoon, my leg was TOAST. Gonna skin Arrowhead in the morning to get some freshies I hope.

That's great to hear! I'll be up at the Beav early tomorrow for *hopefully* some fresh tracks! Vail is still an option though.

Another 3-6" overnight tonight from about CB on north. CB is a little far for me with somewhat limited terrain. Highlands has a lot of terrain open and could be a fun option in the AM. Steamboat should also be good, but again - limited terrain. Beav was OK today...that and Vail should be fun tomorrow, but def not epic. However, pattern looks mostly dry until Christmas, so get what you can tomorrow in bounds, and maybe some backcountry if and when it's safe.

PS - some of the heavier snow bands were showing up well on radar today/tonight, so it's easy to track them as they come and go.

looks like the flow has shifted to the NW a bit. In a lull in Eagle County now but hopefully it picks back up.

Not excited about the lull we are about to experience, not good. After seeing the bowls at Vail today, i would say they will be lucky to have them open anytime soon. It is basically just grass back there, really bad.

Hmm...I just might have to go into work early so I can park the cat and be to the lift at 9. The snow keeps piling up.

Did you hit upper snatch/ snag park or is that too thin?
I thought I read here somewhere patrol had to bomb the crap out of that area from wind-loading.

did not hit that area. Best snow is north facing slopes for sure.

Still dry in EC at the moment. Hopefully we wake up to some more.

I just drove up from Boulder to Leadville. It was snowing pretty hard from Georgetown to Silverthorne - Loveland could be pretty good tomorrow. It was snowing, but a little lighter from Silverthorne to Copper. From Copper to Fremont Pass it picked up some, and it was dumping hard from Fremont most of the way to Leadville. The winds picked up as I got close to Leadville, and it was blowing pretty good. There's at least 6" new on my driveway, and it's still snowing steady here.
