I would subtract everything from Monday and Monday night, which leaves 5-11"...more reasonable. Can't wait to see Wolf Creek's report at 5am! Enjoy it out there, whoever is there!

And also, thanks for posting reports from other locales (Sunlight, etc). Helpful to see what's happening on the ground! Keep 'em coming.

I don't care if Summit county is still reporting 0 inches, I'm heading up tomorrow and if there isn't some new fucking snow at Loveland or A-Basin, someone is getting cut! See you on the mountain!

Oh and screw you Wolf Creek bitches, I hate you and your 5ft nonsense!

Still waiting for the storm to hit Aspen.... 2" tops on the ground in town. A little more reported in Snowmass Village.

edit - Did just read this - AFTER MIDNIGHT ALL HECK WILL BREAK LOOSE AS THE UPPER TROUGH APPROACHES. I'll believe it when I see the snow on the ground.

    Dear Sky,

If you aren't going to drop any snow, please drop an anvil on my head instead.

God damn finals and having to take priorities over skiing. The storm haaaad to come in to Snowmass after I left.... At least it's supposed to keep puking until I get back next weekend...

went to sleep with no snow on the ground in Vail and woke up to a mountain report of 2"....hell yeah, this storm has delivered. Looks like another weekend of slaying born free.

forecast still calls for a wind shift and our snow to start this afternoon and tonight. Looks like to me that once the front passes, the moisture will be quick to dry up. Some terrain enhanced snow showers could drop a quick couple of inches, but looks like this mega storm is just a southern producer. The wait continues.

Yep....worst early season in my 7 years in Vail. Last year at thus time 7/11/5 were open and china bowl opened on the 11th.

Everything is going south and the forecasts have been worthless. It's not gonna snow anything significant till unless this southern track shift for this coming weeekend...but it won't and everyone in CO will get snow and we will get another inch. 2-3 feet predicted by many and we get 2-3". Almost went to Utah or Jackson this year. Whoops.

And I'm sure everyone will say oh "it will
come". Screw that. I want it now!!!!!! I don't live in vail so it can snow occassionally....

    30" and counting at Schofield.

Thankfully NOAA has so far been way off on their wind predictions, this has been as calm of a storm, wind-wise, as it gets.

Oh and btw. It should be a well known fact CM from Snowforcast is a monkey with a keyboard. Still says were in for a foot today...

That being said it's finally snowing pretty decently in vail and if we get a foot I'll change my title to monkey with a keyboard.

yeah I see it D. Snowing pretty good, not sure if as usual it finally broke thru on the SW flow or if the wind has shifted. Very calm winds out. Some impressive wind speeds however down around purgatory, durango, etc.

It has been a slow start to the season, but the snow will come. ^^^ said it best, we'll be about average give or take at the end and the longer it takes to get started the more we'll get later. You'll get plenty of pow.

Wonder if WC or CB will get the dreaded black rose today or tomorrow?

edit: looks like the flow has shifted a tad more west than SW.

I am guessing wind shift. The returns are coming from a more westerly component. All the ingredients are now there and totals will be contingent on duration...

I still think 8-16 is reasonable.

Oh I know he's not accurate. Just decided to have a look. I use fireweather and wunderground usually for short range and NOAA 8-14 for long range....

2 inches of so in Leadville. That's on top of another inch from yesterday.

Far cry from the forecasts. But I'll be there's a decent amount of accumulation going on up high.
Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.

Maybe but unfortunately we need more like 36"-48" to get things started...the grass is still growing in the back bowls
