Posting this for a buddy over at Ski Utah. Actually seems like a pretty cool dealio.

The state of Utah has just introduced a brand new Ski license plate. What better way to celebrate than to have a little fun playing cards. The good news is that everyone wins at License Plate Poker but the player with the highest hand will hit the slopes next winter with a brand new pair of Rossignol skis and bindings or a Burton snowboard and bindings.
How do I play?
Rules and Prizes
GET A NEW PLATE
1.) Buy a car. (Preferably from Ski Utah sponsor Young Chevrolet) When you're filling out the paperwork for that slick new ride and they ask you whether your prefer the "arch" or "ski" plate, look them in the eye, try not to become annoyed by such a silly question, and simply say…."ski, please."
2.) Don't want a new car but do want a new plate? No sweat…either hire the neighbor kid to steal your plate or conveniently "lose" your old one (just be sure to recycle). When a plate is lost or stolen, it may be replaced for a fee of $10 or $13 using one of two options:
A.) To replace a lost or stolen plate, go to a DMV office with the most recent registration card. Find a location near you here: http://dmv.utah.gov/offices.html Sure you may spend some time in line, but think of all the cool new people you'll meet! Make sure to ask for the "cool new ski plate" and pray for a good hand. Bribing DMV officials for a plate with a "full house" with promises to show him your favorite powder stashes is strictly forbidden (and bad powder Karma)!!!
B.) Plate replacements can also be obtained by mail. To do this, send in a written request, a copy of the registration certificate and $13.00 (the extra three bucks covers the cost of mailing your plate) to:
Division of Motor Vehicles
Mail and Correspondence
210 North 1950 West
Salt Lake City, UT 84134
3.) Put your NEW plate on your car, take a picture and email it to poker@skiutah.com.
We continue to post the highest plate on our website until the end of business on the day the last Utah resort closes for the season.
LICENSE PLATE POKER RULES
Just like classic poker only we substitute the letters on your plate for the cards in your hand. The new plates contain six characters, consisting of one letter followed by three numbers followed by two letters. These characters will act as your "cards." Your hand will be the best five cards found in the number/letter combination available from your plate.
* A=Ace, K=King, Q=Queen, J=Jack, 0 (zero) = 10, W = Wild Card
* All other letters are garbage (don't count for anything)
* Since we're using 1s, Aces are high
* Look for hands containing pairs of numbers or letters to make three-of-a-kind, two pair, straight, full houses, etc.
Best hands are listed in order below:
1. Full House
2. Straight
3. Three of a Kind
4. Two Pairs
5. Pair
6. High Card
Some samples:
Your plate: A566RB your hand: pair of sixes
Your plate: K323AK your hand: two pair - kings and threes
Your plate: J908XQ your hand: straight - 8-9-10-Jack-Queen
Your plate: A444BA your hand: full house: - pair of Aces and three 4s
Can I submit a hand using my vanity plate?
Uh….no. If you are one of the vain ones out there, great, we totally support you (especially if your plate has something to do with skiing or snowboarding). Send us a picture of your NEW ski-themed vanity plate and we will send you some cool Ski or Ride Utah swag.
A few more rules…

2.) You must be the owner of the car and be able to provide proof of ownership in order to win.
3.) Rules are subject to change so check our website often to get the latest***
4.) Don't like the rules or want to call our bluff, email poker@skiutah.com
