I was there three weeks ago (the last weekend they were open)...you had to walk on and off the lifts, unless they get a fair amount of snow it's still pretty thin....but yeah it's October and you are skiing!!! I may make an appearance

I went up to Timberline for a little Dawn Patrol hike this morning. I haven't skiied since July, but I thought the snow was great. Pretty light, about 8-9 inches of fluff. It was very blown around, so there were some awesome cusy drifts, but also a bit of slab action in spots. You'll love it!
My car broke down on the way home and I missed most of my work day!

Tom's in Whistler heading to Portland

Tom called to say he'd hiked to the top of Whistler from the parking lot. for some runs today (his visa was about to expire, so he had to get into canada). He plans to be in PDX for the beer thingy and some Hood skiing. He sent this shot from the top of the mountain.

So...there is no lift served tom and splat skiing planned? (Now that I think about it it would just make my lungs hurt being the gaper that I am. (I asume tom is insane from what I hear?)

Doesn't look like the lifts will be turning at T-Line this weekend. I'd assume, even if they had plenty of snow, the weather would keep Palmer closed. Hiking is good tho. Doesn't look like I'll get a ride this weekend. -kb

P.S. Any maggots going to be at the Portland showing of "High Life". I will DEFIANTLY be there!
