    Good idea, I like the concept. I would use it.

    I'd suggest having the huge trail map images load on demand rather than upon page init. It's a huge load time, even over 5MB cable.

    We had thought about having the images load on demand but once the page is fully loaded its really cool to scroll through all the different maps on just one page. I find that you end up checking out maps that you might not click on to load.

    **Once the page has been fully loaded it should load much faster anytime you return to it.

    Check out Red's - it has a small footprint and loads quickly.

    It uses a custom version of Zoomify v3 for Flash, found here:

    It's only about $100 for a license or so, and well worth it.
