Nuking in Fernie presently

It's dumping in Fernie right now. And it's about time! The mountain is planning to open Dec 8 so this couldn't have been better timing. It's cold and it's blower up there right now. Not much underneath so I hope it keeps up all day before the pineapples descend upon us by tomorrow.

not to piss on your parade but its going to rain to the top everywhere in the next two days, heres hoping the pineapple express stalls over the coast, otherwise its back to square one.

yeah bummer. It's currently -14 and temps are supposed to rise tonight to +1 by morning with a high on Monday of 9 degrees! Still snowing pretty good out there. I just got back from a skin to the top of the Bear. Nice snow but a little bony feeling underneath. Good news was that I skiied out on good gear and managed not to hit anything ( other than a submerged log up on North Ridge).

The Pineapple may (i repeat may) be deflecting further south... sorry PNW. Looks better for the CDN rockies... of course the Lizard Range is it's own entity when it comes to weather. Good luck and may the cold preserve us all.

nope i think the pineapples are going to get us. It's still snowing but I think I heard some freezing rain on the window a half hour ago. It has gone from -12 to -3.6 in 2 hours. I'm almost afraid to look at my weather station from this point on. Have a sneaking suspicion I'll be waking up to rain tomorrow morning
