    Question balancing carbs

I have a lazer pointer that gives the temp of what u point it at. What is optimal temp for the exhaust manifold at idle? And run hard for a while? I have an '89 Arctic Cat "El Tigre" 530. It came from Colorado and went from 200 jet size to a 240 stock. I balanced it by ear, but one side is running a little hotter than the other. It hasn't seen a lot of use; only 672 miles.

I've always thought they needed to be done with a vacuum gauge. I think you'll be chasing the dragon trying to tune it to exhaust temp.
