Colorado is about to get hit hard

We had two guys from CAIC up at Beaver Creek doing some forecasting, and they're calling for up to 20 inches in the Vail-BC area by Sunday, and up to two meters of snow in the southern San Juans. They also said that's it could be pretty dry for awhile after this storm.

2 feet around Vail and Beaver Creek? Will they potentially include Breck/Keystone?

Update...forecasters confidence continues to rise with this storm
as very moist subtropical air continues to stream northward into the
southwestern states. Brand new 00z model runs continue being very
aggressive with snowfall amounts over most of out mountains...with
areas along and south of Interstate 70 hit the hardest starting
midday Friday and continuing into Saturday night. See little reason
to continue on with the watch as warning level snowfall will occur
with this storm. Potential for over four feet of snow not out of
the question...especially for the southwest San Juans...where 24
hours of moist southwest flow...combined with strong jet dynamics
bring US our heaviest snows in quite some time. Also taking note
that the system appears to be just a tad colder than earlier
thinking...and will need to watch the northwest plateau region for
late periods...as new NAM kicking out six plus inches for those
areas. This will be a dynamic storm and things will be changing
fairly quickly...so those planning travel throughout the region are
urged to monitor the forecasts closely.

About time!! I'm leaving for Silverton in the morning to enjoy their opening weekend. First time I've been there, but I've dreamed for quite awhile...

    Three cheers for southwesterly flows!!!
Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck. I REALLY wish weekends were for fun and the week was for work. If that were the case, this would be the weekend for CB, Young Jeezy.

This makes me happy. Snow in Aspen = good New Years.

at first, I was going to write only the last sentence of this entire statement and then I realized it needed to be said. All this time people have been giving up on winter and sharing non-stoke with us. Let it be known that your stupid flame wars and threads are not wanted. We are not looking for stupid little fights or any other reason you can come up with to raise your post count. We want pics/stoke. We want Trackheads heli photos. We want Joe4186's pow shots and we also want pointedem's terminator cliff huck photos. So let's get back to what this place is reall about.

ANY ONE READY FOR SOME POW TURNS!
