DAMMIT. It basically missed me (so far). I live about 20 miles north of the CO line and above 7.000 feet (about 60 mies north of Fort Collins). Over night we got a "dusting" of snow and looks like mostly rain. It's 33 degrees here right now and drizzling a bit of rain. Forecast says we are supposed to drop to 17 degrees after the noon hour and still get 3-5 inches. I hope at least the surrounding mountains got some.

72Twenty- I think the storm cycle that we are getting over here is supposed to drop some on you. It is not as savage as Colorado's, but its snowing pretty steadily. Should be in this area until 11(?).

My alarm clock this morning woke me up and alerted me to some snow, definitely not the two feet predicted.

Shuttle bus just got stuck in front of my office and the dog (aka alarm clock) just lost her toy in the wet snow- I guess these are all good signs of a heavy snowfall?

Well, so far this storm has turned out to be some weak sauce.....not that we were supposed to get all that much here in Steamboat. It was raining on and off last night until 1 am or so, woke up at 4 am to see that it had turned to wet sloppy snow....and now waking up again to sunshine.....I hope the temps drop today

it's not northern colorado that got cheated out of this storm, it's northern new mexico. all models showed the moisture to pass quickly over you guys, but linger over NM longer. what happened what that it turned out to be too warm and the mid-week predictions of 7500 freezing levels in the Sangre De Cristos and Jemez mountains did not materialize.

CB reported 9 this morning and it has been snowing all day. I just got done blowing out the driveway and it was more like 13 or 14 with the additional accumulation. It is big heavy wet stuff. No rain thus far. Hopefully it will keep on through the night and get us into the 20's. The mountain was a zoo... the only lift from the base was shut down due to wind (didn't seem that windy) so you either had to hike it to Paradise or hang at the base and self medicate. I had my AT rig but didn't bring skins or it would have been short work.
EDIT: CBMR is now claiming 15 in the last 24 hours

We've gotten a little over 10 in town in Leadville and it's still coming down pretty steady. I made it up Graham Gulch today, found 15-20 inches of new on little to no base. The turns I could make were fun, but tons of deadfall sticking up still made maneuvering and linking more than 2 or 3 turns pretty tricky. Wading through that much heavy wet snow to get out was a lot of work as well.

For all the summit people complaining about the lack of snow out of this storm-- You weren't supposed to get it yet. Friday night was to hit primarily the San Juans, Elks, and Central Sawatch. The models weren't predicting a lot for the 10 mile and not really any at all until today and tonight. Looking at NOAA's forecasts, it will probably end up with maybe 10 overall for the Summit County area. Vail will see maybe 15 out of this storm.

Did you look at Silverton's website? 48 inches at mid mountain. They had to close the mountain for the day. Wolf creek reports over 30". The storm hit colorado just as expected. Except in Breck, where i was, all we got was crowds.

We were originally going to head that way until we saw the webcams this morning. Doesn't look like they got hit too hard, but snow levels increased as you moved north through the sawatch up to leadville (though the drive down 24 isn't too crazy with snow). Along HWY 82 it started to get pretty significant snowfall maybe a mile west of Twin Lakes then increasing the farther you went.

The webcams at Monarch are here:

Funny, we did the same thing. Monarch Pass was our original objective today but it looked kinda thin so we bagged it.

At least the area might be able to open soon!

So it rained in Vail basically all night. I decided to go skiing as it finally started snowing at about 5am. Mountain was reporting 4". Got the second Gondi up, chair 2, 3, and 4 were open. Chair 4 was the SHIT all day. At least a foot and some spots were sick deep. MASSIVE windy, crazy wind loading on anything east facing. Saw a foot deep, 50 feet wide crown right below the cliffs on chair 4. It snowed like a MF all day. The base was a gloppy, mashed tater mess this afternoon. Still hoping for some nukage tonight.

Good to hear. I was planning on going to Vail tomorrow. The forecast is for up to another 10 tonight I think.

This was never supposed to be a Summit County storm.

At least 20" on Ajax, and over the head pow at 3:00PM. It was a bell to bell kind of day!

Vail was not really crowded by Vail standards. Chair 4 had a line at times, but never more than 10 min. I can't speaK about the base, it was weak sauce, we just made laps on 3 and 4 and 7. Game Creek was SWEET. White Out conditions most of the afternoon, it was stupid windy.
