    Replacement parts for Salomon boots/bindings?

I've been riding the original Salomon X-Wave 9.0 for the past few years (must be 00/01 model I think), but this year the part that sits on the shell and that the liner sits ontop of (I think it's called the boot board or foot board) broke on each just in front of the heel, probably from too many hard landings in the park. I took them to a shop mid-season to try to order the shock absorbing boards that are in the 1080/Promodel but was told that since they don't make those boots up to my size, I couldn't get those to fit (mine are 30.5; the biggest they make is the 29.5 Pro Model). So I asked them to order me in some standard ones. They phoned me back a few days later saying that Salomon Europe don't sell the the standard part in my size either, even though they sell boots containing the part. They said Salomon Europe is seperate from Salomon USA though, so I might be able to deal with them directly myself. So, does anyone have any contacts I could try?

And now Salomon bindings (original S900 Ti 1080 - 99/00 I think). I was in Les Deux Alpes a few weeks ago and they have a kicker set up in town with an airbag landing for practising jumps on. I landed on the airbag after a corked 900 with my DINs on 10 and the metal plate that gives the binding its adjustability snapped clean in half. Part of the heelpiece snapped off with half of the plate on it and the other half is still attached to the rest of the heelpiece on the ski (just look at the photos). Any thoughts as to what I should do? Can I order just the part(s) that need replacing (only the metal plate is broken, but more might need replaced in order to reassemble it, I'm not sure), or will I have to get hold of a whole new heelpiece? Is that even possible, or will I just have to buy a whole new set of bindings? Have Salomon's insert patterns changed between the S900 and today's S912? Would there be a problem mounting an S912 heelpiece to replace the broken S900 heelpiece if I could get ahold of a single heelpiece? I haven't been able to find the receipt for the bindings - would I be able to warranty them if I did find it, or even if I don't find it? They are a 99/00 bought in November/December of 2000.

I've just had a better a look at the binding and I'm pretty sure that all I need is a replacement metal plate - have a look at the photo with the brake removed. Does anyone kow if this part is available on its own? Will the equivalent S912 part fit my S900s?

You should be able the beds from Salomon NA, address below. The plate is replaceable, some shops may have an extra, or you can once again ask for a new replacement from Salomon.

If you actually warrantee it you will probably need a shop to get a Return Authorization, if you just order the part yourself, it shouild be fine.

Good luck, be polite, tell them your home shop is closed so you can't go throught them, direct service is easier.

Awesome! Just what I was looking for. You wouldn't happen to have an email address for them too would you? Easier than post and cheaper than phoning from the UK. Thanks again.

EDIT: Just seen the warranty link (for some reason Salomon UK does not have that page on their site) - 5 years on bindings like I thought though. Does anyone have experience of a warranty claim without sales receipt?

    try warranty@salomon-sports.com

Not positive that works though. If not use the dealer locator in the link above and ask at your local shop.

Seems to have worked alright . I'll take the binding to a local shop sometime soon to see if it really can be fixed by replacing the metal plate, and see if they have the part themselves.

Thanks a lot for your help.

The tab in back of the heel lifts up and you can release the plate from the binding. Replacing it is just as easy, the plate is the same for the last dozen years or so, a replacement shouldn't be to hard to find.
That was a bad mix of metals, lots of that model seemed to have problems.

    No worries.

Salomon seems to have a hell good warranty dept...as long as you aren't a dick to them, they will take care of you.

I went in to talk to the tech at my local shop yesterday (without the ski/boots) and if he understands it properly then he thinks a replacement plate should be not problem - might even have one lying around the shop he'll have a look for . As for boots, he was very surprised I wasn't able to order the correct sized replacement parts through the other shop I went to and will try to get me them himself once I bring the boots/binding in for him to look at.

Thanks a lot for the help .
