    Cold Weather and New ACL

    hey all,

so, i'm about a year out from ACLr (hammy). as the weather has now turned cold, i'm noticing that my knee seems to feel a bit more sore after a workout. specifically, after riding to/from work on my bike, it seems like it's a little bit more tender. nothing major. just...sore. i haven't been out on skis yet this season, but i'm kind of imagining the same kind of reaction.

i definately wear layers on the knee, but i'm just wondering if anybody else experiences anything like this during the winter months. it's my first winter with my new ACL, so i don't have anything to go on.

    thanks a bunch!

I did get similar kinds of feelings just after my OP (it was in mid March, so still pretty cold outside)... It seemed to radiate from the screw in my tibia (or is it in fibia, WTF ever). But haven't gotten similar feelings now that the knee seems to be pretty much healed (9 months post OP).

But if you're doing cold weather biking... Getting the knee warmed up is pretty important (especially if you just had the OP) as would prolly be wearing one of those neoprene "braces" on yer operated knee.
