Thanks asheanmt for posting this in the main forum. So great it needs it's own thread here.
And another one animated/looped- (thank you Fear of a flat planet)

Here is another link. It is actually the big picture. It might take a while to load since it's so large.
Link for water vapor. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/weus/loop-wv.html
Link for Colorado vs Utah. http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/northrockies_loop.php

bump, because this forum is fucked up, has no page 2, and I look at this a lot.
this should be sticky
Bumping this to the top.

I watch these damn maps every day. I was soooo fucking stoked to see the recent change in which these systems moving out of Japan were coming straight for us instead of over us. Looks like its following the same pattern as last year. Nothing but snow and freezing temps in the forecast from late Monday on though the rest of the week.
The family quiver has been waxed multiple times....
Ash's new skins are cut and her new BD boots are due to arrive any day now.....
Backpack is packed and ready to go......
Beacons have fresh batteries and are in good working order........
Its so close I can taste it!

really, that's great news! I have been taking a break from those maps for a while now...thinking that my constantly checking them was affecting the flow. From my observations last yr, it seemed like when those storms started rolling in from Siberia was when we really got wallopped.
Did your wife get the BD Shiva's by chance. I'm interested in a review if that's the case.
""wash uffize drive me to firenze".
^^^ Shiva indeed. Will post a review once they come in.
Perhaps another late October/early November San Juan pounding is in order?
I like it when they take the shape of something across the pacific...like a brain or a giant sperm or something!
