    Recent Carnage

..somehow I walked away from this one. My wrist is tweaked though . X-rays on Thursday. Could be worse I s'pose. Thankfully my face is ok; me thinks it's time to start dirt jumping with a full-face.

    X-rays on Thursday?

Fuck that, go to the emergency room.

Is that a gold label fork?

    Let's see that face

I agree, if you've made up your mind it needs to be x-rayed, go now.

Glad you're at least mostly alright though. That's scary!

    Damnation man.

So, spill it. What'd you do? Nose into the backside of the landing? Glad your mug is ok, hope the wrist isn't too bad.

Yeah, came up short and 50/50'd it. Came down hard and the bike just blew up. Seriously not a scratch on me besides the banged up wrist. I am waiting until Thursday so I can see my hand/wrist specialist here in Boulder. I have it well splinted for now. In my experience (3 breaks) this is all the ER usually does for wrist injuries.

Dude, I think you need to start DJ'ing with full body armor, not just a full face...or at least full wrist protection. Hope it's alright.

    They do that.

I sold one to a friend of mine for $50 (I paid $200). I read the reviews and was too scared to ride it. Full disclosure on resale of course.

    that sucks hev

Yeah it looked pretty bad in person. I should have had that on film, but I put the camera down to dig on another jump about 30 seconds before the carnage.

Let me know what you think. I am a bit worried the frame may also need replacing at this point. It's an 03 P1 that has taken some serious beating.

Actually yeah.....for the cheap 100mm version

As far as the gucci 100mm option for the discerning dirtjumper in 08, only the fox 36 float will do. Easily reduced with spacers gratiously supplied by none other than fox. Be noticed in the new year for your uncanny large stanchions and become the talk of Lake Arbor housewives for weeks to come.

For that extra 10mm reduction procedure, slap on those goofy looking oakleys and the steriod influenced design of the Lopes 4x WC fork. Sleek white lowers and a genuine carbon logo sticker set will have your voice in a higher pitch, your WRX lowered and your hair in cornrows with you out front in that long train through the doubles.

For the budget minded trickster with a short front end, nothing says 'hey look at me, my fork is really friggin GOLD' like manitou's new gold label series. Available in 80mm and with a new stiffer spring that you can actually use, this new model is bound to match those new dollar sign front teefus caps you got for christmas.

    hah, kidwoo cracks me up.

    heal fast hev.

on a side-note: how come none of yinz DJ riders use rigid forks? rather break the fork than the frame?

Go case a jump or overshoot to flat on a rigid bike and you'll understand.

Even front suspension takes the edge off your ankles and wrists.

Can't speak for others but if you felt my dj fork with your eyes closed, you'd swear it was rigid. Land flat at 25 mph over a jump however......and that travel gets used.

And I don't really care what a bunch of bmxers do

woohoo! I have a small bone chip at the end of my radius, but it's tiny and the pain and swelling have gone down significantly. Doc sent me home with a brace and instructions for more R.I.C.E. over the next 2 weeks or so.
