Thanksgiving Season Closer pictureless TR
So I closed my mountain biking season today with my traditional Thanksgiving morning ride. The route starts at the Green Pond parking lot, goes through Maples, Icebox, and finishes with Wheelers. We go early, around 8 am so the trail has not had time to thaw and makes for some great, super tacky riding. It was about 15 degrees when we got to the trail, brrrrr. The top part of the trail was super nice, leaves on the tral and the frozen ground made for an excellent riding surface and allowed for some serious railing through the turns. Since my normal fork (a 32 TALAS) was destroyed earlier this year, I was on my spare F100. Its shorter so the bikes geo was steeper than usual, plus the seals are fuct on that fork. Things got a little sketchy when we entered the maples part of the trail, which had been virtually destroyed by dumb asses on horses in the mud
Icebox was nice though, clean and tacky, probably the best trail conditions I've ever had in there. We railed through Icebox and finished out with a high speed chase down wheelers. All in all, a kick ass way to end the bike season. Now all we need is some snow.
Sorry I don't have any pics, my camera needs a new battery and my non mag buddy forgot his.
