Ah, the drama that is Portland...how I miss it.
Yo, ET, do Kennedy School.

Your dog just ate an avocado!
Between Bagdad and Kennedy School, which would you prefer? Only been to Kennedy once and do not remember a space for a showing. Are people over standing?
Kennedy school has a theatre just like the Baghdad's where they show movies.
The Baghdad is bigger though. and has more seating, so it'd be the better venue choice.
Also, thanks for the laugh when I yelled "I'll sell 'em" about the 172 carving skis you gave to a 6'6" 280 lb guy.
Kennedy school is more comfy.
Stood upon a mountaintop.
Walked barefoot in the Snow.
and kennedy school rawks. you can send the snowboarders to detention.
looking for a good book? check out mine! as fast as it is gone
Any opportunity to have live music there or are we over it?
Live music after a ski movie is a waste of time.
Your retention of the skiers and folks has got to be < 10%.
Plus no one wants to see live music after they've been standing for an hour and ten minutes because the venue you're at has no fucking seats.
Two years ago the TGR had the movie at the Hollywood theatre. Which was awesome, except that they don't have a liquor license, so if you didn't sneak in your own sixer of PBR pounders you were fucked for drinks. Baghdad fixes that.
I would second the Kennedy School (great Powderwhores premieres past couple of years) or larger Baghdad or maybe Mission. I would prefer to sit down with some friends on comfy chairs or couches with a pitcher of beer and watch the movie on a large movie screen with good sound.
When it comes to planning next year, you should consider contacting some locals in each of the cities and getting local opinions.
I did not stay around to listen to the music, and none of our 10 person group did.
Alembical
p.s. - I think it is great when people come out and admit their role in things... and also do not take criticisms too personal.
** Edited to Add ** a great non-McMenimins option would be the St. Johns Theater. Better food, much better beer, and all around better venue than Baghdad, but a little smaller.

ET,
Thanks for replying as it puts a face to the faceless.
I think that laurelhurst (which does have a liquor license ((or at least beer)), or baghdad would be good. The only thing to be carefull would be making sure to keep the show all ages. I think that is a good idea.
However, I did see at least one parent take their kid inside, look around hit the swag table and leave.... weak sauce? Perhaps, but they might not have wanted to get "moshed by the dirty ninjas"
Damn I'm glad I didn't go!
I went out for Ken's pizza with two hot, ditzy blonde chicks instead.
FKNA that's good pie!
Kennedy school is fun, but the theater is flat with couches and Thurston Howell chairs. Once again the short chicks would have my huge melon blocking their view.
Baghdad would be great because it's stadium seating, always a place to set your beer in front of you, and it's big. They always have the Banff MFF there.
EcoT- You were a fine MC, but if that screen isn't bigger next year I'm going to incite a mooning riot.
Mooning riot would be the death of me so I am going to do my best on making some of these suggestions happen. Please be patient and I will try to keep you updated as much as I can.
Lost And Found is a brilliant film and should not be slighted in the least. I want to reiterate that the showing should not reflect poorly on the production crew and athletes in the slightest. Please, if you have a chance to check it out again I highly recommend it.
Now let it snow...

Did anyone else have issues with the ATM at the Hawthorne? It took money out of my checking account, but dispensed no cash? The fat guys giving out skull tattoo's didn't seem to care about my issues with the ATM.
Thankfully I still had an extra $20 on me... so once the movie started... and I realized that the scene was a disaster, I purchased a video from Ski Chalet dudes and went home to watch the movie with a bunch of other pissed off maggots.
PS. MSP was the better flick this year.
Oh God, this shit show of a show just got even more hilarious.
The Moonlight Basin voucher thingies you guys handed out. They've got the web address misspelled.
www.moonlightbasin.com/Portalnd vs www.moonlightbasin.com/Portland
Please guess a) which one works and b) which one is printed on the coupons. Note that (a) and (b) are different answers.
Dude, it's 6'4" and 300... but a damn good guess...
And who even uses 168's anymore? Anyone want to trade a set of skis for an avalanche beacon?
I strongly agree on having a new venue next year.
Another place that might be good is the Academy. Not even sure if they rent it out for private shows or not.
Yes,
The correct address is below to redeem your vouchers. I believe Portland was unintentionally spelled wrong on the flyer handed out that evening.
Thanks
