this is as big as the screen gets, from 10 feet or less away.

biosmear is currently chained in the back by the ubernazi bouncers performing services for mixed drinks and free hairy chest back massages.
He is currently blowing his sponsored by jeep rape whistle.... I gotta go.
i cj001f's alter ego suggests the pdx show sucks becuse pdx sucks![]()
There was a show at Portland's airport?
okbye
Wow,that really sucks.Hopefully the shwag makes up for it.So Biosmear is the new gimp, eh.
Cue dancing midgets from Spinal Tap's Stonehenge
I made it out, but they tattooed sleeves on me with their inky skull stamps. And I swallowed my Sponsored by Jeep whistle.
Yeah, tonight sucked. Movie was good, I just couldn't see it very well from way back in the 3rd row.
not sorry i missed it.
glad we had that magg viewing a couple weeks back.
this is a shitty haiku

Somebody put a black-light tattoo skull stamp on my nutsack. Don't really understand why. The screen was small, I was standing on a bench next to a tube-topped girl in the bar area. Please, TGR, don't do Hawthorne theater again. I would've seen better pictures on an ipod from 10 feet away.
Now I know why I bought the dvd and have watched it twice in my own home. On my own screen, with my own bong, in 5.1
Stood upon a mountaintop.
Walked barefoot in the Snow.
Agreed. Real disappointed.
Next time TGR, feel free to host it at my house. My TVs about the same size, but we could get some people to sit down and that way 2 or maybe even 3 rows of people could watch the movie.
Never thought someone could make Berbatis look like a good venue for a movie.
This is the last TGR premiere we will attend. Just doesn't make sense when the two of us can buy a movie for less money than admission and actually be able to see more than just top half of the screen. It was not only the screen size, but it seemed like the middle of the screen was 6 feet high with a crowd of 6 foot people trying to watch.
Alembical
Indeed.
Look, I thought the sound was good, I thought the guy who was on the mike did a good job, I thought the swag table was all right, but sweet jesus..... the screen was sooo small.
I almost felt sorry for the guy because he clearly knew that it was a problem, except that they didn't fix it. I mean as one maggot said, portland is the city of the indy movie theater. They could have hosted it at any of the other places that has seats and an actual screen, the laurelhurst, bagdad, the hollywood, clinton street. I felt sorry for the shorter fellas and ladies in the group, if you didn't have a box to stand on you only got to see 1/2 or less of the movie.
edit- Also, once again... I know that TGR has nothing to do with the actual venue or setup of the movie at their remote locations, but I still think it serves as a service to inform.
double edit - in summation, perhaps one of us should step up and promote this for next year, or suffer the same fate as this year.

Did I mention that I felt like I was attending a Hatebreed show and all the staff of the Hawthorne acted like they expected me to incite a violent riot with straight razors and swastikas at any moment?
I think the future of fun ski premieres is in our own hands. Get the DVD, have our own party. Maggots only, cut out the general public. Cookies and SAC smartwool socks as swag.
Paging ski_pdx
Well I guess Im glad I didn't go. I missed the show in Seattle for a convention in Portland but I thought maybe I could fit it in. I went to a dance at the Jupiter (maybe?) Hotel and as I left I saw the jeep covered in lost and found stuff drive by.
Guess I just have to buy it now...
the Bend premiere was at the Tower Theater.....it was a superb location
but the Capita snowboard movie they showed beforehandthat sucked donkey balls in all of it's acid trip artsy techniques. I was actually nauseous and most people around me had grimaces on their faces.
I actually called out "make it stop" during it and people applauded.
TGR was good though
Let me lock in the system at Warp 2
Push it on into systematic overdrive
You know what to do
No.
Your showing was the tits, let it be said.
Hello To All Disappointed,
I was the guy on stage but please do not feel sorry for me. TGR simply makes the best product in our industry and it is the Tour Department's job to follow suit with the best presentation of that product. I take full responsibility for the showing of the film and thus the lack of screen size and projection quality.
Let me briefly explain the situation... We work directly with a local professional promoter for each of our premieres across the country. We have strict suggestions as to what the screen size and projector must be. Many of the key markets (Portland being one of them) consist of a premiere of the movie and live music afterwards to differentiate ourselves from other industry premieres and add value to the events. Typically these promoters are live music promoters strictly and a movie premiere is sometimes foreign to them. This is where we come in and instruct them on what our attendees and fans expect when attending a TGR premiere.
In this situation I was not insistent upon making the changes soon enough and we all suffered because of this. Again, my apologies to each attendee and especially you, the core of our fan base, the maggot.
My hope is that I can remedy this situation and not lose our fan base in Portland. I have read suggestions on alternative venues and will be considering all of them. Please forward me additional suggestions as to where you would like to see a premiere in the future.
Aaron
You think you can just waltz in here and apologize nicely and promise to fix things in the future and that makes it all better?
