    Jackson hole paddlers?

Just got out here this week to ski for the winter, but right now it's 45 and raining. I did bring my boat, and was wondering if anyone's doing any paddling at all right now? I'm a class III paddler but would also be interested in just some flat water near town to get out and do something. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks

With the rain, some of the park and play might be going in Alpine Canyon.

head up to cody. right now all our paddling is around class III or III + and worthy. it's good to boat all year, the canyon and the one mile are fed by hot springs about halfway down, so the water warms up significantly. one of the guys down here boats over 200 days a year, with no problem.

I am new to kayaking and Had a few questions - Don't know which thread to post on so I'll choose this one --- I have an America 11.0 rec kayak - has a huge opening and is 11 ft long - My question is ---- what would be the highest level of rapids I should take this on?::

You probably shouldn't take it down any real rapids. Those things are not designed for whitewater.

You'd probably be OK on easy class II, though.
