After the storm that roared through from B.C. on the weekend, we decided it was time to hit Bow Summit for some much needed pow.
It did not disappoint.
Another boring day in the rather ugly Canadian Rockies.
It's cool to be skiing when some of the mountain lakes have not yet frozen. Peyto Lake.
A few people ahead of us had already made some nice looking tracks on the slopes above the practice trees.
X marks the spot for Eldereldo's first run.
Good aim!
Rare self portrait of the photographer.
After a while we headed up the ridge towards the highway avalanche chutes. A few people were doing some lines high up in the cirque.
More gnar that still needs a lot of snow to be filled in. But two skiers checking it out.
We were the first ones up the ridge, so we got to knock off the tree chutes one by one.
Nice view of Bow Lake and Crowfoot Mountain and glacier.
A few skiers were hitting the avalanche chutes proper.
One final powder run, then skin back up to the ridge and bushwhack through the little trees back to the parking lot.
Things have filled in nicely with the recent snow. We didn't hit a rock all day, although the practice slope is still in need of more snow to cover the tree tops.
Game on at Bow Summit!
