    RC Snowmobiles/Snowcats???

Looking in the quiver pic thread I noticed someone had a cool RC snowcat.

I'm looking to get one for my little brother for x-mas. All I have found are $150 or more.

Anyone have good info on these? I don't want to get him a crappy one, but I don't really want to spend $250...shopping for the kid who has everything is tough, but he would have a fucking blast with one of these an a few skiing DVDs.

    thanks

If you are referring to the RC Groomer in my quivker pic, this is where my sister picked mine up, http://www.amazon.de/DICKIE-Snow-Sch...4982936&sr=8-1

She lives in Austria and brought it to the states with her. Not sure what the deal with shipping would be. Cool toy. Keep in mind it needs a converter to charge on US outlets.

    These looked pretty good: Snowmobiles

Low end R/C Snowmobile for $39 plus shipping:

Scale Model Pisten Bully groomer (Not powered)

R/C snowcat, but it's pretty big ( 1/12 scale = 14 inches long) and pricey.
    Gas Engine powered too.

There is also a snowcat built with Lego's Mindstorms NXT system, but it's an indoor only thing that wouldn't deal well with real snow.
Good runs when you get them.

Cool idea. Awfully expensive though. A tank would be close:

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

If you can find a "New Bright" snowmobile (not currently in prodcution), they are pretty rad for harder packed snow. The track doesn't have big enough fins to really make it go too well in the powder. It could be faster to, but it works and is fun to play with. The one we have in the office is about 18" long or so, the thing is monsterous.

i had a buddy with a snowcat model, he built a kicker over it and took photos with a wide lens of doing gaps over the groomer. That was super dope yo.
