    Question Boot repair question/advice

I have a pair of Lange Comp 100 boots and the "power strap" has worn out to the point that the strap tends to loosen when I apply a lot of pressure, typical when I ride the bumps. Should I order a new strap? Or does anyone have any advice or has experienced this and what did you do? I appreciate any info.

Try a 3 band booster strap...that'll clamp you down:

How many seasons have you been on them?

My Hot Rod ones only lasted about 50 days before the velcro 'wore out' and contacted the distributor and they sent me new ones no charge. They are elastic ones though and don't last as long as normal ones. I'm going to do the same this year for my new boots because they don't have the elastic Booster straps which I like.

I would just go to your shop and get them to order new ones. Shouldn't cost too much, I'd guess $20. Otherwise you could just rip off the old fabric velcro and glue some new ones on from any fabric place.

This will be the 4th season in the boots, which probably translates to around 75 trips or so???

Do you use these on your boots? What do you think?? You must like them to refer them. There are two rivets in the back of the lange boots, so do you think they will work out?

You should have bought booster straps when you bought the boots originally anyway. As pretty much anyone will tell you they are SO much better than stock velcro ones...and yes they are easy to install and will fit about any boot, so just go ahead and do yourself a favor and order some.

I have done a little reading up on the product and have not found a negative thing about them yet. Since I weigh around 200 lbs, should i get the three layer webbing straps??

Yes, I have used Boosters for some time and have my vote. An excellent product with correct installation and used properly high on your boot cuff and not shell…easy on both counts.

You can search this site for other comments and installation of the straps [you would do well using the 3 bands strap]. I currently have them on a pair of Solomon Impact Pros for this year. For me, I ditched the factory spoiler and drilled out the 2 old rivets holding standard Velcro strap. I installed using the same Solly plate that held up the Velcro strap at the rear of boot shell then using an awl working through the Booster material web short #8 machine hex with washer and securing with # 8 nylon lock’s to anchor down [Lock nuts sit nicely in the recess slots of inner shell for this boot]. In your case, a similar approach will work for Lange’s. Perhaps someone may post with a inside line on Lange install.

If you decided to purchase and have any problems with installation, post up.

Since you weight 200 lbs you should be in a 120, unless you are a total hack, then the 100 is probably ok.
oh and yes the boosters are the shit
