Demonoid - RIP???

Hopped onto Demonoid and got this message...

The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.

Damn, is Demonoid following the path of Oink? Is this really the end of online music sharing?

ha. hardly. Look around a little bit, I've already found one replacement site for oink, and if Demonoid goes down it'll only be a couple of days before a replacement is back on (the CRIA didn't confiscate the servers, so I'm assuming it is entirely possible that all of the data is still on a disk somewhere waiting to be set free on another domain).

Bittorrent and P2P will never die, the industry will just need to figure out how to get it to work for them. A good way of doing that would probably be to stop shutting down sites/suing customers for exorbitant amounts of cash for songs they've shared.
