"a simple equation:
force of impact + force of steeze = 0
the two negate each other. for Eric, stomping a 60 ft cornice switch is like jumping on a really soft hotel mattress." - NS member ChronicF explaining why Eric Pollard still has knees.
For all you guys new to rockered skis. Yes they flex very soft if you flex them holding the tip while the tail is pressed to the floor. The whole goal of a rockered ski is for Float. What allows the tip to float? Being wide, and also being soft so it can flex up easier to the top of the snow. Now if you place the ski's contact point to the floor and flex from that point forward you'd see that this ski is actually quite stiff. The same goes for the tail, but most rockered skis have a stiffer tail than tip so you can land better and boost higher.
No comparing the Hellbent and the EP Pro. They are essentally the same ski. The HB has a much bigger tip profile and the tip is actually much taller, giving it more mass and making it chatter much more than the EP. I rode the HB from February 10th on last year, in pretty much every snow cond. and it was great. My only gripe was it was slapping my high 5's whenever it got choppy or I was moving fast on the groomers. I switched to the EP because they chatter much less, but feel exactly the same everywhere.
There are a bunch of new designs from Rossi, Armada, Salomon, and K2 that are going to take what Eric, Shane, and the K2 boys have started and really blow some minds. The new Rossi is gonna be sweet. You can change the skis from rockered to traditional by adjusting the flex rods with a switch, I believe LibTech already has a board that does this or maybe its a Rossi snowboard...
So please stop complaining that Rockered skis are too soft, they are supposed to be that way. If you want a stiff ski, go buy one.

Hollywood, I have the Hellbents... is there any weight difference between the
EP Pros and the Hellbents?
