    EP PROS!! (and bacons)

So I got my EP Pros today finally. They look sweet. I also have sir francis bacons. I first skied the bacon last year and LOVED it. This year's model is about 30% stiffer I would say, which I like. Makes it a little more all around.

EP Pros are definitely REALLY soft. Much softer than the bacon. A little softer than last years bacon. Fat skis are starting to look smaller to me, but these still look pretty big. Quite a bit of "early rise" as you can see in the tips. When holding the ski it just looks like it is completely rockered. A lot stiffer underfoot than in the tips. Looks like its going to be the funnest powder ski ever. Definitely not for steeper faster lines, but thats not what I got these for.

My quiver this year is -

1)181 blizzard titan nine: for harder snow and when I want to carve

2)193 Big daddies (2 pair, one with race bindings, one with fritschis): for big mtn/steeper lines. Pair with race bindings is for harder lines/comp ski, and the fritschis are for steeper/faster lines in the bc. (i have trekkers to take the SFBs and EPPs out when its super deep and just doing pillows, hits, skiing switch, whatever)

    3) bacons: pretty much my every day ski on the mountain unless im skiing the blizzards for when its super hard snow or I just wanna go out and haul ass and carve.

    4) EP Pros: for when its SUPER deep on the mountain, and pretty much whenever in the backcountry if Im not doing bigger steeper lines.

Really stoked to try the EP Pros. Early rise and early taper and really cool. The early taper makes skis like the bacon a lot easier to ski on groomed. Together with that a lots of sidecut(elliptical, snowboard like sidecut), they actually carve very nice(the bacons at least, I imagine the EP Pros dont carve nearly as well with the early rise and super softness). Last years bacons could carve very well but got scary once up to speed becuase they were VERY floppy. This year's should be even better as they stiffened em up a bit.

edit: im baked so if none of that made sense...thats why

The EP Pros is definitley the softest ski I've ever flexed. Should be fun in untracked pow but could be kinda sketchy anywhere else...

I say line has the best graphics of any ski company, those two looks sick, and the prophets are really good looking too. I think the ep pro is really similar to a hellbent (though maybe even softer?). If I was getting skis like that I would go for the ep's just for the infinitely better graphics.

the bacons are so sick. i absolutley love them. I'm trying to build up my quiver. My mothership flites are gonna be my rock/hardpack skis. I'm looking for an all-mountain powder ski that i can take everywhere on my 3 trips out west (mostly trees and kickers in the park). i'm trying to decide between the bacons and the prophet 100s. powdurr have you skied both. whats your opinion on the bacons vs the 100s? and for the super deep im waiting for lines industry revolutionizing superski that pollards been talking about that they're releasing next year and skiing now.

It would depend how you like to ski. If you like to ski a little faster through some sketcher snow and down steeper stuff...go with the prophet 100.

If you like you ski a lot of pow and also some freestyle stuff and want more of a snowboard feel, go with the bacon.

I personally used to like skis like the prophet 100 more, but thats becuae they didnt used to have skis like the sfb. once i tried it I loved it, I really recomend it.

Pollard did both those graphics. I was actually sitting next to him when he was fixing the "LINE" on the bacon graphic to be bigger, per Line's request. The Elizabeths have this sweet pic of Eric's dad hiking some shit in super old school ski gear.

do you think the bacons are too soft to be a versatile one ski quiver? cuz thats the dilemma. i'm looking for a one ski-quiver from line. and i'm afraid the prophets are too stiff and don't have enough width...but i'm afraid the bacons are too soft and are gonna be tough to ski when its not deep. i ski mostly trees, park occasionally for some kickers, and a bit of backcountry, steeps, and bowls. everything i read about the 100s makes me think its the ski for me. but then i see the bacons and see pollard ski them, and i'm like damn...thats the ski for me.

All I can say is I definitely thought they would be much too soft for me as an every day ski but ended up loving them, and now that they are stiffer they should be even better. The only thing they get scary on is trying to carve super fast down fast groomed runs (think sun valley). That and occasionly super hard icy cruddy days, they arent too fun. For EVERYTHING else, they rock. If you end up going with them as a one ski quiver you might wish you had a stiffer ski sometimes, but most of the time I think they rock...unless you are a huge guy. I'm only 150.

I'm strongly considering a pair of bacons

I think they'd be ideal for tight EC trees with the soft flex and massive surface area
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

I agree that I'm not a big fan of cap construction (even though I own two pairs of line skis) but why the fuck shouldn't sweet graphics matter? Let me guess... you bought the scratch steeze, cus graphics don't mean shit... right?

i have the bacons and the 100s. for the most part, the prophets are fat enough for all but the deepest days. if you really want the quiver of one, the prophet is the ski you can ride every day. bacons are fun though.

as much as i love the bacons, the prophet is the ski you want. i skied VT for over 15 years and you'll want the prophet to hold an edge on the less than stellar days.

i'm looking for a quiver of one for out west, i'm not really too concerned with "shallow" days, i have a pair of mo ship flites (90 waist). i'm looking for something fun and versatile for pow, trees, and kickers and are manageable on the groomers on the way back to the lift. i really like the proph 100s but i'm afraid they're gonna be too stiff and not enough freestyle oriented for what i'm looking for. I wish i had a chance to flex both of them to see, but i don't. i flexed the prophet 90 and it seemed kinda on the stiff side for what i'm looking for.

I know, it's kinda stupid with hellboy or whatever on it.
It's growing on me a little and I like the electric current running down the right one.
It's a burly all-mtn ski. After that, the graphics are meh

I've got Sugar Daddies for that, if I could find a super deal on Bacons I'd grab those for the epic days that come around 3-5 times a year. Its not worth paying full retail for though

suprisingly the EP Pro is quite a bit softer than the Hellbents. I was blown away when i flexed them. I'd be scared to ride them but they'd be ohhhhh so fun.

I wish they had made the EP Pros with the same flex as this year's Bacons, which sounds like a nice medium-soft flex as opposed to ridiculously floppy.

supposedly pollard and pep(just signed with line) are riding and doing r&d this year on this new ski that is supposed to revolutionize pow skiing. i don't know about you but i'm hoping for a rockered prophet 130, or a stiffer, rockered bacon. they haven't done any reverse sidecut and i don't think they're going to. any thoughts on possibilities for line's new uber-ski?
