    Jong Naxo Mounting Question

The red lock on my Naxos broke last year, and I have since gotten it warrantied. BCA send me an entire new heelpiece, so when I change it do I need to put anything in the holes before I remount the new heel piece?

How tight should I turn the screws? I'm guessing until they are snug, I don't want to over tighten them.

    Thanks in advance.

    I know nothing about Naxos.
But did you ever get those skis after Blurred got them from the shop guy?
I realized just now that I had at one point offered to get them from Blurred and ship them to you.
I assume it got worked out? If not I could still get them from Blurred and ship them to you.
    Anyway...back to your Naxos.

I pmed blurred about it saying that he didn't need to worry about shipping them.
There is a good chance I'll be in your neck of the woods this weekend so I could pick them up from either of you two.

Put a dab of wood glue in the holes before you screw them down. Tightness wise, I go for the crank them but don't strip them. If the ski has metal in it and the hole is tapped good luck strippin them, if not it could be more of a problem. Just use a hand screw driver and not a drill, you'll tell when your hand starts slipping on the grip.

Sounds good. They are mounted on Gots which have a thin layer of metal in them. I plan on using a posi #3 to do the trick as well.

Would tacky glue do the trick or does it specifically need to be wood glue?

Givebackabloom, the main function of the glue is to seal out moisture (so water doesn't get into the core). I'm pretty sure tacky-glue would work (but as I'm not 100% sure on what tacky glue is, I won't say that it'll work). I often just end up using slowcure epoxy...

But you gotta be careful with epoxy, or it'll melt the skis and the screws.
