    The Rising Stars

I'm not one to ask for help, but I'm at a loss of connections right now. I recently quite a desk job, and would like to get back into the ski shape of my college years. Believe me sitting in a chair is the worst thing for the body . Anyway, I would like to know if there are any Mountains that really don't have the vacationers or bigger cities close bye.

Being from the Northeast, I've tended to favor Jay Peak and Smuggs during the week, but it's too cold and not enough powder anymore. I've been eyeing areas like Whitefish or Bend because of there size, location, and range of outdoor activities. If anybody good give me some recommendations of some nice spots that are not in the mainstream, but could be some day, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Sha seeeeeeeeee!

Not many places like that left. Not that I live anywhere like that. 500,000 in Boise/Treasure Valley and the Vatos down in Nampa are fugn powderhounds. They are up here every weekend slaying the pow. Its funny too see if they are Crip or Blood, they are always flying the colors.

So either Bend or Whitefish. Do you like sun?

Hey Sponge - Sure I like sun, but I like trees more. Crips and the bloods. Got love that. Now that adds to the term packing heat.

Lonestar - That's a good point. I was just thinking that the area around Big Sky is all private and full of people who use the area as second homes.
Plus it's a good hour drive not in a snow storm. How are the winter's in Montana? Windy and cold, do they get a nice amount of powder?

    Thanks for the replies.

British Columbia! Kicking Horse, Revelstoke, Fernie, Big Red, Whitewater...and more back country than you could ski in a lifetime.

But you had better move quickly. The world is coming to the Kootenay Mountains (at least according to Powder).
