    ???Conditions in GTNP, Garnet Canyon???

I am looking for some snow conditions/advice on snow up in Garnet Canyon, what is the snowline and how deep? Is there enough snow to justify skinning or would it be faster to hike? any advice on cutting the extra hike in due to road closures would help too. Thanx in advance

You are gonna need to HIKE...with shoes or hiking boots from the car!

The road IS closed. So your only option is giong in from the Taggart Lake lot. If I was inclined to make turns on the east slope of the Tetons, (which I wouldn't be right now), I would bike over to Lupine Meadows before I started heading up. The west slope has significantly more snow. If you're looking to maximize the turns, start on the other side of the pass...IMO.

Check out www.tetonat.com . Randosteve has a vid from a week ago or so...and its been warm since!
