I wouldn't start freting yet, when I went to school up there, I think every year they opened the thursday before thanksgiving. that week before it would get cold, and dump 5-6 feet on the ground in like three or four days and it's time to skip school. This is good imo that it's clear and dry right now, it'll just build up its strength and unload in like three weeks.

If not, you could always go for a tour with local mags

I grew up skiing Baker and I can't remember a Thanksgiving when we didn't ski, But this year is scaring me...

If it doesn't open I'm going to be poking a lot of smot, hot tubbing and cooking Thanksgiving dinner....and looking at my skis. visitors welcome!

If you guys remember this time last year baker had zero snow, actually it was setting records for rain. Then a few days later it started to Nuke for days.

dont worry about the forecasts its not like forecasts over 5 days are even close to actuate 90 percent of the time.

So in my completly worthless opinion they'll probably be open.

I still say yes... It only takes a couple days of dumping to get enough to open some chairs up. Wherever opening day is I'll be there!

Last year still makes me grin. It was soo unbelievable.
Every day thanksgiving week was 2 feet.
On that Sunday when we were leaving it snowed 17" in Bellingham and we had to stay another day.

I think patience is the key. Yes, GCC is real. But I bet there'll be at least some snow by Turkey Day. The nights are certainly cold enough. Its just we need the jet stream to point itself in our general direction.

I know the feeling of plopping down $ non-refundable and hoping the weather is ok. in the words of Stevie Wonder, "Don't you worry bout a thing."

Promise her you will stay in the next day to watch the kid and give her the credit card. Otherwise...you're fucked.....the trip is obviously pointed at your fun-o-meter anyways.

Hell, if it doesn't turn out take a day and go to Anacortes and take a whale watching tour or hang out a Deception Pass Park.

Not gonna happen. Whistler, however, is just a few hours away.

Baker MAY open some runs on Friday - if they do it will be very limited, possibly only chair 2.

They will be opening the lodge, though, so there will be a tap room session for the hikers.
