Tropical storm Noel.......get sum Jayfrizzo.
It is nutty out there. Was starting to break on the outer reef this evening, about 300 yards out, maybe 400. I don't know, fucking far.
Inside it's way drifty and super whompy. Random.
It's too dark by the time I get out of work to get after it, and to be honest I'm not that dissapointed. Winds should die down by this weekend and I have off Friday.
Cowabunga.
If this is your first tropical storm/Hurricane be careful. You won't believe how different the water is, especially the rip currents. Even though the water is still warm a wetsuit is good for the flotation and protection. Your going to bounce off the bottom more than you think. I would use at least a flotation vest.
I'm going to try and head for NSB when it gets closer. I haven't storm surfed in awhile and will prolly get worked hard.
After this experience, people around you will think your strange when you start to get jacked when a tropical event is headed your way.
( if you survive it)
Psyched for Saturday up this way. Pics to follow.
Going to get pretty out-of-control on Saturday except for maybe some of the sheltered spots...Sunday may be the better day. Still, a tad windy regardless.

cape cod = world's longest pointbreak?
Noel was easily the best swell all summer/fall. Maine was fun too, but never got super huge.
This is a photo of me from Saturday at a reefbreak before the NE winds kicked in too hard. It was chest-head with some bigger sets but really nice shape. Sunday was bigger and cleaner, with SW winds, which killed this spot but others went off.
