Yes it's possible. Probably a better idea to thumb a ride than ski along the road where you get dumped out, though.
Again, possible is anything ;)
Advisable not so much.
Yes, there will be gates above the expansion and below. It drops you off a few miles up zuma road though, not keystone.
No and OMG why would you want to?
It's crappy enough skiing (walking) down south facing trees to the road from the bottom of Zuma Bowl... which puts you on a road 3.5 miles from Keystone.
To get to Keystone would not require entering the new terrain, but instead using the existing BC gate and going for a LONG BORING 5 MILE TRAVERSE ending with a smallish (<500ft) descent down terrain that rarely has a skiable base. If you are into ridge traverses, why not do the 10-Mile traverse something worthwhile?
This question deserves a JONGing... you topo map JONG.
anyone else think the bowl resembles a big, spread open vagina?

Looks like we found Cobra's secret base!

HHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Cobra bowl is gonna be DEEEEEEEEP today bra!
HIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSS!
I herby proclaim (since I'm a bossy asshole) that Summit, Squatch, and Myself will only refer to Montezuma bowl as Cobra, Snatch, or Pussy Bowl.
Sounds like we might need a poll to decide the official unofficial name.Quote:

I'm glad someone else sees it! I was starting to think I should stop watching so much interporn:D
Personally I think "Snatch Basin" has a really nice ring to it.
Yea it did toolbag, thats why I asked.
I love Blurred because of always nice, thoughtful, and kind responses. Sure nobody knows as much about Colorado, Summit County, or skiing in general as he does, but it's the fact that he is so willing to help. I really do like the responses, pure TGR.
Guys calm down, he's not talking about keystone, he's talking about "keysone" wherever the fuck that is.Quote:

Id throw my shit in there anytime. Without a rubber
Why is it that any colorado thread is automatically reduced to sexual inuendos and vulgar language. It's quite the phenomenon. Just look at the two threads we have going right now.
it's because we're dicks. high altitude or something. everyone in colorado is an asshole, no one should vacation here.
It's gotta be the altitude.
I think it's cuz we're better than anyone else.
Oh yeah, and that too. I just thought that was implied.
Nope, aprehensive joy
Shouldn't you be fisting yourself over the fact it snowed 6 inches on top of nothing? Or have you learned to type with one hand?
i've already creamed myself...and it's more than six inches and it's still snowing.
i'm going to go hit some urban rails in breck, totally wasted really soon.
urban? doesn't that require a city?
So, back to the original question, couldn't one drop out the bottom of Zuma bowl and then skin up the other side to get to the back bowls of 'Stone?
I'll admit it, I've always wondered about that. Probably a terrible idea in reality though.
Breck - maybe "tourist urban." Should we call that a "tourban" rail then?
yeah, Indy was what I think I was thinking about.
But I agree, not worth the effort unless there was good mid-winter coverage, and you were out for the tour a lot more than the turn.
I've heard it's a great town, Colts and all.
not worth going
