I know it sucks but could the burlington location at least get a poll option??
With such a strong endorsement I'm sure Vermont will get a slew of votes ;)Quote:

My ranking:
Tie - JHole and PNW
Second - Colorado San Juan
Third - CO Summit County
I'll probably be in the San Juans and you're welcome to join.
You forgot Snowshoe.
Along with a Burlington option. How's 'bout an Arlberg option?
WTF? Where's India or Kimmy for that matter?
No one's willing to commit to Kimmy right now, with the possibility of substantially reduced vertical and all.Quote:

I don't think New England is viable for a summit. A mini-summit would be better here. The weather is all over the map, and those not experienced up here wouldn't enjoy it. I say JH or Colo
cool ! i'll be thereQuote:

I see Jackson/Targhee doing well, and that's rad. From a logistical standpoint, I wonder if W/B wouldn't be better- you don't need a car once you're there, so people could bus/rideshare easily and save some dough; meeting up for the apres-booze is super convenient in the Village; and I think that the lodging is a lot easier to come by at W/B (their central reservations office could hook up a huge group all at a shot). Just my meager .02 (which I didn't feel like posting in the other thread because, jesus, that shit is long).
I like the idea of a minion infestation of the Teton Gravity headquarters. Perhaps Mr. Owens himself could schedule a business trip to the headquarters during the Summit? Twould be good to finally meet the man.
The upside of Jackson is that I personally don't have to worry about a drunk driving conviction I acquired at age 18. I could be wrong but I've heard you can't get into Canada with a DUI conviction. Now whether they check for shit like that at the border? I don't know.
If indeed it is decided on Jackson I think a Big Sky excursion is in order. Mountainman has offered his apartment as a huge ass party locale. ;)

That's true, I thought of the border crossing issue but thought that since we're all such law-abiding citizens that there'd be no problem. I guess there aren't very many hobos to stab in W/B, either.
And by huge ass i meant that I will be bringing in all of the fat girls i can round up.Quote:

You're not wrong. They can deny you entry for a DUI. Usually they will let you in if you file some kind of form to the Canadian Consulate for a $150 fee. Nice scam, huh? Of course if they want to be sticklers they could just totally deny you entry.Quote:

Good point, many bums in Jackson?Quote:

^bump^ 'cause I'm bored...
I like the idea of moving the dates into February with the idea that the snow is almost invariably better then than in March.
Yep. Thanks.
Edit: Oh yeah, JACKSON, WY.

Ditto.Quote:

I was one of the 4 that voted for Utah. Good God, I fell in love with them places out there this winter!
Whistler because then maybe I can come
Ba-dump bump bing!
Washington ('cause I'm thinking of moving there) or Jackson Hole ('cause my friend lives there).
I vote jackson for obvious reasons.
Not so obvious reasons, are that by then I hope to have a farily huge heating garage built for major maggot parties and crash space.
--I am NOT speaking for TGR here, but I know a letter to Buzz from Dirk hinted that they would love to have it at Jackson, and would probably be willing to give one helluva locals tour.
The fact that you have great BC skiing, Jackson, Targhee as all great options makes it even more enticing.
--the only downside, if there is one is that it is not easy to get to, but with car pooling from SLC very easy, and then you could make 1 day at LCC before heading to Jackson.
We made the traveling circus in interior BC work, and getting to Jackson is nothing compared to getting to Kicking Horse or Retallack. Hell, big jets fly into Jackson if you can swing it, Retallack doesn't even have a phone!Quote:

Pretty sure I voted for Jackson in the initial poll. For rather obvious reasons, some new and others due to our facilitating webmaster I think that Jackson is where it SHOULD be.
As far as stepping up, I'd be glad to supply the dates just as for last years UT Mini, farther than that I'm knd of organizationally challeneged.
PS: I'll be looking for a ride from SLC, or riders to share a rental with.
I can't remember what I originally voted for, but Jackson seems pretty good to me right now. I think anyone who feels strongly about the two top contenders (Jackson and Whistler) should start threads extolling the virtues of them. Then we can have another vote between just those two at the end of the month. Then someone with more gumption than me can step up and organize.
Sweet.
Sick and ashamed and happy (and will be making a trip out west this year with two disciples in tow (hopefully it will coincide)),
d.
edit: I got the ball rolling (well, I gave it a feeble nudge anyhow)
Bump for Roo's attempt to throw JH under the bus ;)
