Summit...I'm guessing you still get out during the week...though not sure if you'd be bored with stuff I'm interested in doing. Anywho...anyone else have any weekday availability and up for some mellow-ish stuff?

i can do thurs or fri
I can do after work(5pm) weekdays. Probably not what you're looking for.
Summit, I think it's time you got on Brown's. This weekend anytime?
I have Sat and Sun off :) let's do it!!!
Also... 5pm after work... damn coulda done it today...
So yesterday I tried a sweep to backdeck roll after watching it on the web... got it on the first try! PmcP got it on the second try! It's a super easy roll. I actually feel like I might be able to do it in combat... but I'd rather try it in a park.
OK so who is down for tomorrow (thursday)?
I can't tomorrow, but would do Brown's or maybe Foxton either Sat. or Sun. I may have some friends come, so I'll find out which day works best for them and give you a call when I get it all figured out.
Foxton has a creeky feel to it. It's a little more technical than Brown's, but the whitewater is not any more difficult than class III and it's not pushy.
Also have next monday the 30th off! w00t
I'm just changing my schedule like mad.
I now have free Sunday AND Monday
I'm always down for Golden. If anyone wants to play hit me up. I'll probably be down there 3 days a week in the afternoon/evenings.
This afternoon anyone?
summit, you still need to do the taylor, should come down/bring some friends
SPThompson and I are doing some glenwood canyon runs on Monday. 11:00am at Grizzly rest stop
Hey, I'm going to be at College in the Springs this fall and I was wondering what the story is on water levels in the fall. Anything still running?
Spthomson- I'm back in town from Lyons. If you want to paddle this week give me a call. Chutes on Tuesday or Wednesday? Golden? Black bear is at a great beginners level right now.
The Springs isn't the best location for whitewater, but as mentioned, Pueblo is nearby and has good play if they let some water out that late in the year.
Gore Canyon is a fun IV/V and will most likely be flowing, but that is 2.5 hours away. Depending on Denver's water needs, Bailey Canyon (IV/V) could still be going too and is a little closer to the Springs.
Your only other bet would be Waterton which is downstream from Bailey, but unless your a beginner/intermediate, it's pretty uneventful.
San Juan creeks can come up quick with lots of rain so keep an eye out for those.
My advice would be to bring a mtn bike and rock the great trails around that area till the snow falls.
Wednesday anyone?
I'm not sure whats really running. The only thing that seems to have water is Chutes on South Platte. My meeting got canceled for tomorrow and I would like to get out.
I'm totally down!
I'm possibly down! What time?
I'm probably gonna be out in Golden this evening too.
Ok- here's the deal. We are meeting at the put in for Chutes at 10am. Check eddyflower.com for directions. If anyone wants to carpool from the 303 we can meet at The Fort restaurant at 8:30. Summit is in also. Sptompson? Smolakian?
im a maybe
fukkit im in :)
Bummer...gots to work tomorrow. I plan to hit it sometime soon...one of the few things close by running at a good level. Hopefully it keeps running...it's been up at a good level pretty much all summer. This weekend I'm out...parents in town. Maybe someday during the week next week or next Saturday?
P_McP - this was the run I was talking about yesterday. Most of it will be easier than the more challenging/swirly stuff we saw yesterday. Chutes will be fun...but they're not really technical.
So, did you guys run it? How was it? CMSummit and I ran it a couple weeks back. I flipped above the chutes and got my first combat roll! But I made it through the chutes just fine. FUN stuff!!! I knew I was hooked after that.
I flipped above the chutes but chose to swim :)
Made it through the rest allright and learned some more new stuff!
Anybody up for Chutes/Deckers Tuesday or Thursday? Thursday is probably the better day for me. Thursday, I need to be back in Denver by about 5:00pm...Tuesday, I could do it as an after-work kind of thing...later afternoon/early evening.
Flows are up to 600cfs...could make it a bit more...but I'm guessing that's a result of the rains and will be back down under 500 tomorrow? Mebbe it will stay up!
Summit, just left you a vm.
South Fork is up to 700cfs today! Anyone know what it's like at this level? I'm not sure if it's just faster and a bit more exciting, or if it's washed out? Certainly is deeper, which is generally good in my book. :)
it needs to be deeper
spthomson you suck at answering your phone!
1030 at the takeout unless someone calls me to say otherwise or somewhere else
Pretty much washed out some of the nasty stuff today at those levels. I swam AGAIN eddying out above the chute. So my Kayak is II chute runs, me 0. Swam a few other times today too, not my day, felt off. God some good pics hopefully aaron gets em up soon!
I think I'm gonna go climb a 14er with the woman on Sunday. But, I feel like I'm ready to hit fractions. Too bad it might have to wait till next season...I wish I hadn't gotten in so late in the game.:cussing:
P_McP, you should really come down to Golden. They have a nice big spot to practice rolls and some really nice small drops, eddies and waves at this level to practice on. Just playing around there a couple times a week and my confidence level and roll went way up. You can just take runs and hike back up. Plus, there are always people there to help out if you are by yourself. But, I'm always down to meet up on weekday evening and weekends.
Golden is a great place to get your shit in a pile. Even at low water.
word, looks like i'll be back on Monday afternoon.
