The one-ski-quiver question...

Everybody,
Which ski do you think is the most "one-ski-quiver" or everyday board of these. I´m 5.9f - 187lb Intermediate-advanced freerider - BC and a little park-experience to improve:

- Salomon 1080 Gun
- K2 Seth or maden AK
- Völkl Gotama or Mantra
- Head Mojo 90, supermojo 105, Monster im88
- Rossi Bandit B4 or Scratch
- Atomic Sugar Daddy or Pimp

Why only one? Because we have very varible condition in our stations and I don´t like to carry too much gear...
Any experiences to share/binding positions/lenghts?

I ski the K2 Chief (very similar to the Seth) and find it to be extremely versatile. If I lived somewhere that was just a bit bigger or where it snowed just a bit more they would be my everyday ski.

Guys, about PRockets 1080 gun: why everybody says that they are awesome but short-life skis 8and that they are great while they are "alive"). In fact, nobody sells them, I don´t know if it is because they are in love with them or they destroyed them...

ive not been on a gotama of any vintage, but right now my "1-ski" is a 186 LP.
i do have other skis though

ive been on 182 VCTs which have a nearly identical gotama sidecut, but wasnt extremely happy on them. Skied too short in terms of edge, mount point, and surface area. obviously this is a different ski than the gotama.

May I suggest a demo of any of these skis? I mean, Marshal is a superman, we all know this, but you may ski very different than him, and you are also shorter and lack the basic Colorado steeze...;)

Instead of using this places to express opinions, helps other mountain-kamarades, they just speak like if they were seth Morrison or the "freeride galactic champs". Iám not a great skier, and this is one of my learning places, that´s why this pissted me-off!

Dude, just stick to the topic and save the BS for some one who cares.

Go with the biggest, widest, stiffest ski you can get your hands on. Then go out and ski.

Any of the skis you listed could be a good 1SQ if it fits your style, home mountain terrain, and you get the right size.

that being said, as I stated before...GO ski these skis before you buy....

an intermediate-advanced skier would get their ASS handed to them by some skis, but be able to ride a lot of other ones great...

I've got 183 goats in the traditional mount with S912ti, love them. They only suck on super hard pack and it takes a bit more to edge them than PR.

I also have a pair of PR's...noodles. The Goats are wood tip to tail, the PR1080 or any Salomon are foam and top sheets. The Goats plow through crud and death cookies, PR's chatter and suck. Plus PR do fall apart very easily.

I did ski a pair of 188 Bro's in stiffs and loved them. A lighter ski, better for long days, but rides lighter than the Goats too. Still plows through everything AND is better on groomer, more side cut less waist.

188 Bros have less sidecut than any gotamas in a 183. (even 190s for that matter)

Ja! yeah,seems a lot of mystery. The reason I can´t tell you is because I don´t have a fixed "home" I´m allways traveling around due to my job. last couple of months: Brazil, Chile, Colombia... I´ll be in buenos Aires - Argentina for the next 4/5 months I think. This is also (or maybe the main) reason why I want only one ski: i cannot carry a lot of luggage every 3 or 4 months.

I think the Seths, Gotamas, and Prophet 100s are all solid. Among those, I'd take the Prophet 100s if you like a more snappy, active ski, the Gots if you want a damper, more stable ski, and the Seths if you like a really soft ski. I own the Prophets and have been extremely satisfied with them as a one-ski quiver.

What I can see is that K2 is a great freerde boards builder. Iknew that Line was owned by K2 and recently Völkl (is that true?). It seems they are the experts. I know that Salomon was aquired by the same owneras Atomic, so meybe we´ll see good stuff fromthey the next seasons.
