Kton Sunday
MRG Monday
I'll be at Kmart this weekend.
B)
Mt slow saturday. maybe killy sunday. maybe staying at mt slow. taking advantage of the asc pass like a drunken prom date for the next few weeks
Go to Magic, Go to MRG, go to Sugarbush or Stowe or Smuggs or Cannon or Wildcat or Burke.. anywhere but the K-fart.
drive is going to suck at 6 pm on Friday night but thats the price to play i guess. Shoot me a PM if anyone wants to explore some woods.
Someone go to magic and play in the 20" of new sat. morning for me. I will be going south and missing this one:nonono2:
Jay this weekend. Although it looks like anywhere in Vermont and Western Maine will be pretty killer.
Careful driving if people are shooting for their destinations tonight, looks ugly.
... Heavy Snow Warning remains in effect from 10 am this morning
to 2 PM EDT Saturday...

30 inches expected across western Windham County.
Kmart saturday
Killington on Saturday.
Hmmm. never skied Magic. Maybe we will ski that Sunday instead. Kton w/ a pass or Magic having to pay. Will it be worth it?
Will it be worth it you ask.
Do you like skiing fresh lines all day long?
Do you like skiing steep trees?
Do you like skiing with no crowds?
Do you like skiing a mountain that the term 'lift line' does not apply?
Do you miss the Mom and Pop feel of Vermont ski resorts?
If you answered NO to any of these questions - ski Kmart and enjoy the cattle call.
If you answered YES to any of these questions - ski Magic and you'll never ski Kmart again
:D
Yes, Magic is the answer to all your ski prayers.
Use caution, I believe Elevens is the Magic Cult Leader.
So, do I ski free @ MRG or go to Glebe tomorrow, choices......
I should be at K-Mart Saturday if St. Patricks day doesn't start tonight.
Even on a weekend @ Kmart if there's powder in the woods and you're out looking for it the "crowd" becomes an abstract concept.
Aside from lift lines you can generally avoid it while people hunt down that wall to wall corduroy...
Anybody got a recomendation a relatively cheap room for tonight near K-ton? Thinking about rolling up solo tonight.
http://www.turnofriverlodge.com/
or sprite's couch
Thanks for the link... gotta make some arrangements.
Anybody heading (or want a ride) up from Philly/I-87 tonight?
Car + Sleeping bag never hurt anyone :)
Not too sure about lodging up that way, I'd imagine they're starting to get booked up pretty fast. Something 5-10mi down rt4 might have better prices than anything actually on the mountain or access road.
PSA for the Magic lineup crew. Ole' Red starts @ 9 tomorrow instead of 8.
From the Alpine update:
- Beginning this Saturday, March 17th we will be changing our weekend operating hours due to the change in Daylight Saving Time. In order to let the trails soften up and to enjoy more afternoon skiing and riding we are pushing back opening to 9am and will run the lifts until 5pm. Come on out and enjoy skiing and riding into the evening hours.
We'll be upstairs early watching ski porn @ the bar.
I'm out of here!!!
hey phil,
everything elevens said.
magic ROOOOOOLS!
i skied there the (12-16"pow) saturday before last (as well as both days last w/e)...i will continue to look back on that day as one of the finest i ever spent on skis.
skiing red line on a powder day is pretty much as good as it gets. you'll stil have plenty of days to get back to K. skiing magic with the kind of cover that's anticipated is rare and special. you'll be glad you did! you will dream of returning.
buckethead, you making the trip this weekend?
Looks like Im going to take the BMW out of winter storage and try and make it through 20 inches, just to get one last pow day for the season at Cannon tomorrow. Then Im heading to Jackson Hole for some corn harvesting. Nice way to end winter before true spring skiing season starts here in NE.
been trying desperately all morning now to get out of work tomorrow to ski magic...
ah yes, one of the great ironies of working at a ski shop..
just looked at the forecast for Mt Slow/Dover and it takes the cake for deepest potential dump:
Saturday
Snow. Snow may be heavy at times in the morning. Total accumulation of 15 to 30 inches. Blustery and cold with highs in the mid 20s. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph... becoming north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph in the afternoon. Chance of snow near 100 percent.
same southern VT latitude so.... Magic WILL be epic.
Hope we get the 12-20" predicted here.
gotta use the ASC pass so it's Attitash or SR.
Whats so great about magic? Is their snow made from beer that you can drink on the way down?
Seriously though. What are the crowds like there? Worth shelling out the $50 to ski there rather than using the pass at mt snow?
