One of the best examples they gave for this thing was using google maps. Type "San Francisco Starbucks" into GoogleMaps. It'll find the nearest one, display a pop up over it, and then you tap on the pop up to call that location.
This thing is friggen insane.
I can only think of one thing it doesn't do...avalanche beacon.

I kind of liked having to use my dick to work all the other cell phones I've ever owned.
I've watched every macworld and wwdc keynote for 9 years and this was by far the most jaw dropping product announcement i've seen. Unfortunately cingular doesn't work well at the house so until they improve the network or make it available on verizon i won't be getting one.

For some reason I hate Apple...don't know why. I should be a fanboy growing up in Silicon Valley and all. The truth is...if this thing was branded Samsung, I'd probably get this thing. I wonder how much Cingular paid to get the exclusivity...its got to be a mind-numbing figure.
Like Arty said about the google thing...that's pretty killer for a gadget whore like myself. The only problem I see with it is the durability. Its thin, and has a massive screen. You sit on it wrong, its toast. You take a fall skiing its toast. But then again, I could use a different phone for riding. Battery life is probably pretty grim as well.
If they can make the internet work like that video it would be worth every penny. The net on my Razr is worse than worthless.

As far as this is concerned, maybe they are getting around that new law by promoting this as a VOIP product, or more or less an internet device that just happens to be a phone as well...or perhaps they are going to be selling it, but you can then bring the iPhone to another provider...

Question is, how long will that screen last? Ipods are notorious for getting scratched to shit if you breath on it incorrectly.
