SEATTLE - The National Weather Service issued a snow advisory through Monday night for the west and central slopes of the Washington Cascades, as well as the Cascade passes.

A winter storm watch was issued for Tuesday through Thursday.

The Weather Service said 5 to 8 inches of snow were expected Monday afternoon, and another 2 to 4 inches Monday night, mainly during the evening hours. Snow levels were expected to rise to 2,500 feet overnight.

Another weather system will move across southern British Columbia Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday. Four to 6 inches of snow is expected Tuesday afternoon, followed by another 12 inches or so Tuesday night, and 6 to 12 inches on Wednesday. Snow levels Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday are expected to be between 2,500 and 3,500 feet.

A steady stream of moisture will continue to feed into the mountains Thursday. Additional accumulations of 1 to 3 feet are possible Wednesday night through Thursday.

The Weather Service said this will likely be one of the more significant weeks of the winter for snow in the mountains.

Travelers heading across the Cascades should check the latest conditions first. Be prepared for severe winter driving conditions and expect long delays. Skiers and anyone venturing into the backcountry should check first with avalanche forecasts from the northwest avalanche center.

I'm down for some skiing Sat/Sun. Also, who's gonna be at Alpy on Thursday night? I'm gonna ring the cowbell for those racing, but also plan to punt around on the hill and have some fun.

Since my prof. decided to give me a take home test I'm going to make it to racing this week probably. No cowbell, but I'll be yelling.

I tend not to make it on Sat/Sun because I am to hungover.

Monday was good on Hiway 12 about five inches at the resort and snowed all day. Hiked up to Schneedorf after lunch and skied the east bowl in over a foot of fluff. Snow pack very nice and stable at 6500 ft. Looking forward to the continuing cycle of white.

Possible Fri or Sat @Crustal.

I'm currently formulating a plan to skip class.
in one of my classes almost everyone skis or boards. so on a pow day theres like 2 or 3 people in class. at least thats what i've heard:D

Well yeah, but seeing as the St Helens trailhead is less than 30 minutes from where I live all summer, it's an easier trip. But yeah, I've been looking at Adams for awhile now. Next summer.

That's okay. What did you think I did when studying in Grenoble, so close to La Grave, Les 2 Alpes, Serre Chevalier, etc.?
