last spring...skiing Bloody Couloir near Mammoth. Came maching out the bottom with my piece-of-SHIT Bandits and old Diamir I's. In mid turn at high-speed, the binding went into fucking walk-mode sending me cartwheeling.....the bruise is from the impact my thigh made with the toe piece of the binding as it flew off. The eye of the horse is exactly where it hit. That picture was taken at Carson Pass about 2 weeks after the initial incident....so the swelling & bruising had time to lessen some :(

Edit: added pic of Bloody Couloir 'cause its sweet. :) Now back to the DESTRUCTION! :D

the whole story must be told...
after meeting up with some random tele-ripper dude at loveland yesterday, he says to follow him to a nice little jump. we traverse over to it and he hits it with a really stylie tweaked out, crossed up backflip, much to the delight and applause of the nearby group of patrollers. he, of course, has already hit the jump multiple times.
md's original plan was to straight-air it the first time (the smart thing to do) to get the feel. however, having just witnessed the super-stylie backflip, and now with the patrollers anxiously waiting the next exciting flippy-spinny manuever, that was no longer an option (for our normally intelligent slut).
as md starts heading towards the jump, tele-ripper says "i hope he's planning on some kind of backwards trick... that jump really throws you into the backseat". i said "ummmm" as md began airing his trademark superman.
the groans in the background are from the congregating trollers. :)

there were multiple shots taken that day that convey the true md9 steez. jibij.com now has one of those images as it's cover banner for this month.

it looks like you're going super slow and then all of a sudden you go shooting straight up. that landing looks thin :eek:

I have to say that was hands down the worst hit I've ever jumped. It was a jump built onto weeds that shoots you straight-up in the air. If you look at it in slow-mo you'll see my skis almost hit my head when coming off the lip (and it looks like I'm just going for a clean pop). The only choice on that hit is a backflip and I think if you threw into the backflip at all you'd land right on your head one-and-a-half flips later.
