DH - where are you riding this summer?

The nice weather has got me itchin. Where will you ride your DH rig this summer? (assuming that's your poison.) Will it be lift-served? Shuttle? Ride-to/push-to? Travelling around or getting a season pass? Where?

The last two summers I've had a season pass at Attitash and so I've mostly stuck to that. It's been fun but I'm tired of extremely tight fall-line trails. It's time for some flow. If all goes well I'll be rockin' a season pass at Jiminy Peak this summer and will be out there most weekends. So psyched!

Keystone, Vail, Winter Park lift served and some shuttling around the Front Range.

Riding: Vail, Keystone, WP, Wilson Woods
Racing: Snowmass, Deer Valley, Telluride, Crsted Butte, Angel Fire
Travelling and riding @ Big Sky, Silverton and hopefully Whistler.

off to ride the undiscocvered mecca next week in Bolivia. endless 10,000ft plus sustained techy singletrack descents - all jeep accessed. after a month down there back to the front range for keystone, vail, FUCK winterpark, snowmass, t-ride, silverton, lameass shuttles around boulder, and any where else i can afford to get...

Favorites are Matahorn trail in Vail and a secret stash at the top of the La Salle mountain range in Moab......35 mile downhill!!! Son of a bitch now you have got me jonesing!

season pass at jiminy peak. also planning on checking out diablo, pkill, attitash and as many of the other east coast lift served mountains that I can get to.

i've had a season pass at northstar for the past 2 seasons.

Hopefully, Big Sky, Big Mountain, Silver, and looking for some secret push/pedal stashes...

Make sure to add Bromont to that list. Likely the best on the east coast. (My favorite so far anyways.)

You been to Snowshoe yet? Some big plans for this season. I really want to find a way to get over there this summer.

Jiminy Peak - after the big lift opens
Plattekill - When I feel like a red neck
Diablo - To hang with Joey

Some other places in there too. If the other mags at Jiminy happen to see a tallish guy on a blue RMX, ask for change.

Sounds like I need to tag along on the next Moab trip!

NO plans, just figure I will hit numerous places all over Colorado, Utah, maybe Wyoming, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington, hopefully BC, maybe get up to Alaska, since I got peeps up there this summer. Oh and hopefully back east to rip Snowshoe a new one, when I go back for my reunion in August. You know, lift access places for sure, the usual secret stashes, and hopefully lots of new shit. I'll be in Florida in July, but don't think there is much down that way, someone could prove me wrong, might just have to take the DJ there.

Fromme - 30 mins ride from front door
Seymour - 20 mins ride from front door
Cypress - 20 mins drive

Whistler bike park, Kootenays, etc

Mammoth (ski the top, switch, bike down bullet)
Numerous illegal and nobody gives a shit nevada shuttles.
And teh whistler. Hey flowtron....third week in august....think about it.

Wisp (cringe) 'cause it's my local mountain, and they are supposedly stepping it up this year :rolleyes: (did I mention it's only $100 for a season pass?)
probably hit Snowshoe a few times as well...

Well norba bailed on the champ race....might be believable.

Especially considering they might only be melted out for two weeks before it starts snowing again.

Yup, no champ race and talk of running the lifts for skiing through summer. Although I have also heard that the snow is melting down there much quicker than they had anticipated so who knows.

Same here, except Seymour is more like a 40 min ride. Usually just drive to the Old Buck lot though...

Lift served - Deer Valley, only decent one around really for DH. Shrug.

Races - Deer Valley, Bountiful, Brian Head, Sundance, Snowmass perhaps, Idaho, others...

Shuttle - Moab (of course), Nebo loop (Payson), who knows where else?

XC - all over de place! Park City, Moab, Utah County, SL County, etc.

Love summer, love summer, love summer, love summer....

we will be filming the whole trip and hoping to shoot a few thousand stills as well. we are teaming up with stellarmag.com to produce a 'thepowderroad.com" type fully interactive webumantary of the trip that should launch sometime in August with around 1 hour of footage posted. the best part is that three of the sickest riders i have ever seen will be on board and we will be riding a few epic descents never pedaled before... i won't be posting anything from down there because internet access is beat-streat, but will post some shit when i get back in late June.

No I haven't. I guess I should have said "northeast." I've heard it's quite good.

Vancouver North Shore eh.

Mostly a couple of unknown places: Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton, Kamloops, Kelowna, the Shore......:biggrin:

snowshoe is gonna be my 3rd home.

mohican state forest DH and vulture's knob are gonna be my 2nd.

and lotsa street and dj's.

diablo freeride park, plattekill, snowshoe

I'll be at Bolton Valley and hopefully trips to Plattekill and Bromont. I'd love to check out Diablo as well.

30 to 45 minute drive to cypress, fromme, seymour
debating on the whistler pass, or if I just want day tickets
planning on expanding to squamish, eagle mtn, and kamloops this year

but my favorite spot is definitely the woodlot, plus its only a 10 minute drive from my field experiment site

this is all pending wrist injury recovery (so far so good)....

locally, my weekends and a few sunny weekdays here and there will be spent at portes du soleil (switzerland/france), the largest lift served mtb "resort" in the world. (actually a collection of 10 or so lift-linked stations - chatel, morgins, morzine, les gets, etc.).

i'll also probably spend a week or so down in les deux alpes (france), with the most vertical mtb in the world (i do believe).

no just doing some forest hydrology measurement stuff in malcolm knapp forest right there by golden ears park

I will be riding mostly at Vail and Keystone, probably a little Beaver Creek since I work there. I also would like to hit up Silverton and Snowmass.
