Real World is coming to Denver

no joke this time and no crappy documentary in Vail.

TV's longest running reality series, currently in its 17th season, has already had New York, London, San Diego, Paris, Hawaii and Boston among its backdrops.

"Denver has absolutely everything we could hope for -- diversity, activities, energy and nightlife," said Lois Curren, Executive Vice President, MTV Series Entertainment. "We're sure that the character and spirit of this picturesque city will be endlessly compelling to the seven roommates and audience alike."

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper is excited for the exposure the city will receive.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Denver to showcase our cultural and recreational vibrancy to a very large, young audience," said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. "We are excited to welcome MTV and 'The Real World' cast members to the Mile High City."

The show will begin shooting in Denver sometime in spring or early summer and will be broadcast this fall.

9NEWS has confirmed the cast will be living in a renovated building at 1920 Market Street. The building used to house the B-52s nightclub.

Casting for the show has already been completed.

Yes, I'm sure the cast will take full advantage of the recreational opportunities that Denver boasts. If by recreational opportunities, they mean drinking.

It'll be great watching these fucks drink until 3:00 in the morning (when I'm sure they'll forget about the altitude effect) and then attempt to climb a peak the next day. I'd actually watch it if that happened.

Have you ever seen a real world cast who don't act drunk and stupid. I think the only thing I find more ironic is that MTV originally wanted to create a soap opera for teens and they were simply too cheap to pay for it and so they created the Real World.

Since the RW is so played out and bland these days, it would be nice if MTV went another direction with the Denver RW. It might be interesting if they actually cast kids who wanted to take advantage of all the hiking, biking, climbing stuff that's around town- instead of casting the same drunk preppies who will sit around all day and then go out every night and get hammered. Of course, it IS MTV, so I'm not expecting anything different.

I think part of the problem is that the cast of RW gets so heckeled whenever they go out, its probably tough to get them in public (besides bars) where its not difficult for them. Good fucking ridance. Cletus and i will be intoxicated throwing poo at their abode this summer for sure.

You are correct nobody ever went broke under estimating the intelligence and taste of the American TV viewing public. However, that's also the same mentality that causes there to be 100 channels of the same crap. It's a double edged sword as far as I'm concerned.

Cletus has already been on a reality show.

That's basically what their doing. First show had one guy hookin up with 2 of the 3 girls. All the drama of an entire season was packed into the first episode. More like a soap opera than a reality show. Anyone else watching this shieet?

i was flippen through channels and saw a flash of some denver landmarks on mtv, so i watched for minute, my favorite quote that i saw was "... And the next thing i know, i was having sex"

heh. at first it bugged me, but now I like watching people degrade before my eyes. it's like a car crash...can't look away.

i love watching them go to all the shitty ass bars in Denver.
