My pimp new 575

Well I just pulled the trigger on a bike that cost what all my skis put together cost. shameful, i know. Half down, half on delivery. Being delivered tomorrow, just in time for Moab departure.

Team colors, torquoise 575 enduro build. It stretched my budget to the limit.

Oh, and you probably shouldn't have posted that. It'll get Particle all envious and convince him (again) that he really does want to sell his Foes and get a 575. :D

Also, it's looking good that I'll be down in Moab. I won't have a shiny new bike, but it still could be fun.

I am friggin so giddy right now. I'll give a shout out to Sean and Nick at the Sports Garage in Boulder, they were awesome. They have the frame on the wall and were going to pick up the kit and put it togther ASAP. Their eyes lit up when i told them I was going to Moab and I would be eternally grateful (and the envy of all my friends) if I could get it by friday morning. Which they assured me, it would be done. :yourock:

Also got last years price on this years bike, typo on thier part, but they honored the price. :fm:

Thats a sweet ride dude. I just got a new Giant reign 1. Got some upgrades to do to lighten it up some but so far I like it.

after smashing every rock in Moab over the weekend, i can convincingly say "THIS BIKE ROCKS"

Very easy to point it through technical sections that only a 100 mm of travel in my old bike was a gamble and very rough ride. Now its almost like cheating. 2-3' drops no problem. Little more effort to flick it around vs my old bike, but a few lbs will do that. I think I need to be in better shape as well. Pro-pedal isn't perfect, but i am still dialing in the rear shock. I added a few psi, which helped on saturday's decent on porcupine vs amasa back on friday, which was a little too soft.

I need a few rides on my familiar local trails as a good comparison, but I have absolutely no regrets. This bike is a champ, definitely what i needed to step up my game. Being a heavier rider (185 lbs) it is beefy enough to be my "do-it-all" bike.

a full TR to follow in a day or so. Shot a ton of pics

Thanks for the report Crinkle. I am bidding on a 575 on ebay. If you are a heavier rider at 185 what does it make me at 225? Please don't say Clydesdale. ;)

Nice. I'm ordering that same bike within a few months. I need a trail bike bad, and that thing fits the bill. The hard part will be not ordering the Eduro Pro kit w/ Fox 36 and DHX.
Cheers, our 575s should rally at some point this summer, I'm all fired up on Coloraaaado riding. Gotta take that thing on Sovereign next time you go down to Moab....start on the south end and do an out and back...mmmmmm.

flow, we should definitely get together for some riding this spring. Thankfully I don't have anywhere near the cash for that Enduro pro, so it wasn't even an option, but a friend is getting that build up soon, which i will be sure to sample. Enduro=plenty for me. Plans are being hatched for many riding adventures this summer on the front range. Sovereign is already on the list for next time.

My only issues is some crazy vibration from the rear brake, which might be a rotor issue. But I am still in the process of breaking this puppy in propper. I'll be taking it back up to the shop tomorrow and see what they think, disk brakes aren't my specialty.

rontele, there are tons of reviews on mtbr from clydesdales that love the 575 for its beef for bigger guys.

well i finally healed enough to go ride my home turf, white ranch. So my comparison is finally complete. All I have to say is:

Its like cheating.

Still trying to figure out the best riding position and when going uphil, i try to lean to far foward, bad habit from my old bike being too large. When I remember, its a lot easier to sit more upright, thanks to the different geometry. But man going downhil isn't nearly as challenging, so I am going way faster. The love affair continues.....

You can make it as challenging as you want...you'll start to see trails differently....just like getting on good fat skis for the first time.
I finally took a 575 demo we have at my shop out for a quick spin at Matthew Winters/Red Rocks. I was super impressed. Now I need one SOON and may have to abuse a credit card to get it done.
Regarding that rear brake noise....bring it into your shop...it was a very common problem last year, but I thought they got it sorted out. Sometimes its a brake mount that needs facing, sometimes its a bearing that was not fully pressed in.

I actually picked it back up from the shop today. They replaced the avid rotor with a Hayes rotor and it works peachy. The rotor appears smaller than the Avid, not sure if thats possible. It worked fine. Not sure if i like the look though,(petty complaint) with one avid rotor and one hayes, I suppose it doesn't matter not that much braking power in the back anyway. The shop guy said it happens in about 2% of the juicys. Not sure why they didn't replace with another avid rotor didn't think to ask, other than they might not have had one on hand. I also asked them to re-run the rear deraileur cable, originally they had run it under the bottom bracket with some slack to give the suspension room. I looked on yeti's site and they had it run overtop of the bottom bracket. The shop ran it down the top tube, not sure why, when i specified the other way. Looks like when you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

As for me, I went hardtail and couldn't be happier. Already climbing up stuff that was "no way" for me last yr. Im gonna improve a bunch this year.
